My wife and I are going Friday and Sat.  Hoping to run into M'ette...she promised a back massage to help ease some of my back trouble!  Just as an aside...I talked to NRA HQ and asked about CCW where legal.  They said it is OK in the exibit hall but not where they are holding the banquet and such.

FWIW

Richard

PS:  What will you be doing as a volunteer?

Hey, I'm actually off that entire weekend. I'll be there. Not sure what days.

A friends company will have a booth there. Apparently I'm getting tickets to some of the stuff. Don't know what yet.

I will get there on Thursday night and leave on Monday morning. I will be the only one from my family at the hall.

I got my assignment today.  I'll be in the NRA store on Friday from 12:30 to 6:30.  Stop by and say "Hi", but not for too long...don't want to get fired.   ;D

We will come back down for Saturday and Sunday.  We should plan on meeting at the Outdoor Channel booth on Saturday at a specific time.  Of course I'm assuming there's an Outdoor Channel booth at the show.  If not, we should meet at a place as close to Jessie Abbate (sigh) as possible.   ;)

M'ette,

Are you going to have on a red Carnation or whatever so we can recognize you?  Or should we pull your picture off the forum here to have with us?

Richard

PS:  Sorry, don't think my back will allow me to stand in line long enough to reach the front for an autograph.  I'm very worried about walking for 2 days.

Is the Outdoor Channel booth going to be selling (or will the NRA Store) the Season 2 DVDs or any of the Best Defense/Survival DVDs?

Richard, some of the larger convention centers have those little battery powered go karts for us lame guys.  I used one quite often after my accident.  Even our little one in Worcester had some for the Hunting and Fishing Expos.

Jessie signed some pictures for me in Louisville. She and Randi Rodger could not have been nicer.

Timothy,

Thanks.  My legs are fine.  I walk 3+ miles a day at the gym without my back hurting!!!!!  I don't know why but when I go shopping or to a gun show or even stand around and BS for even a short time my back feels like someone shoved a very large knife in it...9+ on the pain scale!  Doc says that there is nothing wrong but I am going to seek a second opinion.

I'm the same way but I broke a few vertebrate in the accident.  Give me thirty minutes standing and I'm done in...as long as I'm moving, I'm pretty good.

Either way, enjoy the Convention and give Momma a hug for all of us if you run into her...

We will all be at the Outdoor Channel Booth ( # 847 )  between 3:00  4:00 on Saturday.

M'ette,

PS:  I'd give you my cell # to text but can't get a good signal inside a huge place like that.

Went to the show today. Sensory overload is an understatement.  :D

I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the 3 M's but it was for naught.  :(

Today was the only day I could go so I tried to see as much as possible. Walked the entire show but felt a little rushed, didn't get to spend as much time fondling as I would have liked. I think the coolest thing I played with was the Kimber Solo. It seems like a really sweet compact 9mm. I would love to get the chance to shoot one, add it to the stable, and put the Kel Tec out to pasture.

I would like to do a better review of the show but I've been awake for over 36 hours, so take what you can get.   ;)

My advice, take at least 2 days to see everything. Get there EARLY! Traffic and parking in downtown Pittsburgh was absolutely horrible this morning and I know my way around down there. Non of the normal tricks worked.

Wish I could have seen some of our DRTV members but I didn't plan well enough. Next time I'll know better. Too bad I can't get back there tomorrow.......

Since we have established that a few of you will be there, M'ette will be there, and I won't be there.

One, or all, of you guys please give M'ette a big hug from the guy in the buttless chaps that she loves (the chaps, not me)  ;)

And express my thanks to any of the guys from DRTV you see as well!

Oh yea, and express my condolences to the Marshal for enduring the blonde ...

OK, I'm heading for the corner at this time  :-X  Have a good time all!

I had to leave around 2 today but I was surprised I didn't see any of the usual suspects wandering around. I check out Tactical Solutions, nothing, CT, nothing, Ruger nothing.... Where is everybody? Still much fun had by all!

My favorites were the people wearing the huge backpacks that walked around as if they were the only ones there.  Incidentally, did you notice a lot of open carry in the convention center?

I saw a few people open carrying, but a whole lot were concealed.  I also liked noticing how relaxed the police officers were that were in attendance.   ;D

OK, since you asked, my favorite guns at the show were the Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle and the Marlin 1894SBL, which is interesting since I'm not really a rifle guy (YET).  Yes, there were lots and lots and lots and lots of ARs on display...didn't blow my skirt up.  Also there were lots and lots and lots and lots of 1911s...still reeling from my Springfield nightmare.  I also got to handle a number of birds head SAA clones...I really like the feel of those.  Cimarron has a new one called the Thunderball which fits my wife's and my hands perfectly.

Had a great time there as well. Said hi to MB on Friday afternoon and chatted for a few minutes. Really true about both AR's and 1911's. There also seemed to be a lot more Russian manufactured/sourced firearms. It did not seem as crowded as last year but there was also more floor space. And it seemed like there was more exhibitors as well.

I enjoyed "shooting" the Beretta PX4 compact. Would really like to try that in real life. The SR1911 looked pretty good and I liked the handgun in the Steyr booth. Unfortunately they had no literature on it. I think I played with every single lever action rifle I could and had to take pictures of my friend with every single rifle based pistol there was. The Sako TRG 22 looked awesome as well as the Nemesis takedown rifle.

Can not wait for next year. ;D
