Post by: philw on April 14, 2011, 07:09:10 AM
grrrr effing light globes,

the Gov made it so we had to replace the good old incandescent's with the so called longer lasting more expensive energy saving light globes and stopped the sale of the older incandescent lights.

my arse they are longer lasting and better have now had 5 go in 6 months of being replaced, they are a crock of shit, last less than the incandescent globes and cost 3 times as much, just another lot of bs.

( just like having to pay for shopping bags)

they love legislating more BS to force on us  we are getting way over governed, with all there bull shit ideas

As with most things, follow the money. The dumbos here about 8 years ago produced - and then immediately hid - a study indicating there was something on the order of $15 billion in new revenue per year to be had by "going green". I would check the financial donations to the MPs over there, see where they came from when this law was passed.

OBTW, they are trying that same crap here.

Hey you neglected to tell everyone the really good stuff!  There are instructions on the proper disposal of said bulbs as well as the potential for mercury contamination if broken.  And oh yeah, they are made in CHINA!
