Title: Total Madhouse At Cabela's !

Cabela's had CCI Small Rifle Primers on sale starting today for $19.99 @ thousand. So I decided to get there early and pick up a few. They opened at 9:00 AM and I got there at 10 till 9 and the line was wrapped around the building!

I was at the end of it. In the time it took me to get inside, walk to the gun area and pick up 12,000 primers, most every person there was at the gun counter. I saw 7 Smith & Wesson AR-15's on the counter, along with people filling out 4473 forms. They'll be sold out of those things by noon, if they're not already. It was too crowded or I would have asked to see one. They were the one's on sale in the flyer for $599.00. They didn't have a dust cover or a forward assist. No matter, they were lined up like cattle to buy them!

If we have another civil war it's not going to last fifteen minutes. The conservatives will have all the weapons and ammo. You would never know there was a bad economy. No one was buying clothing or camping and fishing gear. Everyone in line was buying guns and ammo. At least my primer stash has been replenished. For a while anyway.  Bill T.

WOW!   $20/1000.   I wish the economy hadn't tank.  They wanted to open one up near me, but it's been 2+ years and the land is still empty.

Got a local gun show this weekend.  Hopefully I can walk out a under $30/1000.

Damn! $599 for a Smith? :o I paid more for my Sportical (which is a nice gun, but still, damn!). As far as the forward assist and dust cover, well, its just two more things to go wrong in my book. I don't miss them at all. I'd pay a bit for the dust cover, but not a dime for the F/A.

I don't reload,.....sadly,...yet,....however, my co-worker and I invested in primers and have them safely "tucked away", as a possible barter item...for a rainy day....

Jeff Cooper is becoming more correct in his quotes, by the day.

Keep your stocks up....Primers and the .22 will become a ballistic "wampum" if needed.

Sadly, the closest Cabela's to me is an hour north of here. No, an hour is nothing, sadly because the Interstate is closed between Fargo and Grand Forks due to overland - and over the road - flooding!
