Tip of the hat to fellow action shooter JC Wren for this jewel.

I was reading yesterday that the Union is going after Boeing for trying to set up a second plant line for the 787.  The Union position is that the company can only produce the aircraft at the WA plant because that is what the current CBA says.  They also contend that the reason they want to have the second plant in SC is because it is a non-union state so they can "cut-out" the Union.  The company states that they needed to expand the line and build more planes and the SC plant had the capacity.  It's going to the National Labor Relations Board and the article said they would more than likely side with the Union since most of the Board is appointees from the  Obummer Admin that always side with the Union, even if wong.

My wife works for a contractor here that the membershp went to the same Union a couple years back.  All they did is screw everybody over.  They made a little more in the pay, but actually lost out when they added the Union dues and increased benefit costs.  They have gotten small raises, which didn't happen before, but working conditions have deteriorated.  Por performers are protected bythe Union and use any excuse to send a grievance about a manager.  A bunch of supervisors have been fired fro really stupid mistakes but the people that actually made the error can't be because they are protected.

If the people of Scranton, Pennsylvania don't start a campaign to decertify and eliminate all unions over this it is truly evidence that they have been too deep in the kool aide for too long.

Did I understand the news last night that Boeing is facing issues with NLRB over this move?  Is our federal government stepping in to stop a community from gaining needed good jobs?  Where would they prefer to see the jobs go - China or Mexico?

If Boeing were smart, they would transfer the SC plant to a subsidiary company not encumbered by the union agreement and let that subsidiary build what they need - in SC.

That reminds me of a story, I read last year about some eastern state trying to make DUI a felony.

The 1 group that was against was the police union.  you would think they would support it, but nope.  they did want thier members losing thier job when they get a dui... go figure.

That is basically what the Union says they are doing, sending the jobs and production to SC simply to be rid of the Union.   From what I read Boeing wants to be able to build nine 787s a month instead of the three-four they are able to comlete in WA alone.  Makes perfect sense to me.

Back when Bush was still in Office I was taken to task on here for saying that Unions were money grubbing leaches and were bad for America since they are essentially an arm of communist subversion.
Seems like every one else is finally catching up with me.

Scranton is a big union town controlled by the Democrats. It's been drying up over the last 20 years as  young people and union jobs leave for greener pastures.

Even still this is pretty lame.
