Title: arisaka rifles
Post by: jakejr798 on March 13, 2008, 09:06:13 AM
I am so glad to these rifles where mentioned.  It is hard to find out much info. on them.  they are accurate rifles and good cal. the 6.5 is even being brought back in service even though they are some what differ.  you mentioned the model 38 and 99 which are the most common, but also there was a model year 44 which are more rare they are like the 38 only the have a bayonet that folds under the stock.  I think that they are the most valueable at this  point.  I am not expert at all I really just got started looking in and collecting Japaneese rifles. So any info would help me learn and understand these rifles.

Thanks
Jake Henderson ??? :) :)

I don't know very much about them either, but I own a Type 99 in 7.7 Jap...nice rifle.  Very well made and an interesting history.
