As the Ex-husband of a hopeless spend-a-holic I know the pain of seeing all my hard earned income going to waste. Whether we talk about a personal budget or a national one life is much better if you live within your income.

If this catches on the $ unsecured Federal Reserve Note is dead..
FRN's only have value if people accept them at that value, if they can hold out for something of "real" value the FRN "won't be worth a Continental".
(It's a historic quote, Google it ;D )

Trouble is it might not be legal. Article I, section 8 clearly gives the Congress the right to coin money. Its an enumerated power. While these are not always exclusive, they do tend to trump competing state claims. Its interesting though.

It isn't up to the "crooked #$#@ Politicians" It is decided in the market place, and that is beyond their control.

Don't call it money, and don't put a $ on it, and you should be good to go - it is simply an exchange medium and standard, and the US Constitution does not limit that as I recall. Think of it as a barter standard, not "money".
At this point, anything we can do to tweak the noses of the POS's in .gov is fair. Just be prepared for when they get snippy about it! ;) 8) ???

Call it Sickles, knuts and Galleons. You have to pay Rowling royalties, but you could probably sell them at a premium, AND Disney world would accept them. ;D

You can bet they'll find a way to tax it out of existance. ::) :(
-
BM, The Gov CAN'T tax "barter", since it is unrecorded.
That's why they hate it ;D
I remember during the "survivalist craze" of the 80's that they tried to find ways to track and regulate barter.
It didn't work ;D

Sorry, I meant that they'll try to tax whatever it is (the coins) that's being used for barter. Or they may be cornered into requiring people to be "licensed to trade" (like firearms). They'll find a way to get their cut. :(

Or, they could do what FDR did during the depression and make it illegal to own gold. Though with all the gold being sold nowadays it could be rather hard to enforce it.

It was illegal to own gold COINS. Jewelry was a different matter. That's why so many people bought gold jewelry. ::)
