The voucher was for a Heritage Rough Rider .22lr......they are decent little guns.

Gun and truck promotion a hit at Tifton dealership

An auto dealership in Tifton has gotten a surge in business after offering customers a pistol with their pick-up truck.

As part of the big Memorial Day Sale any purchase of a vehicle at Jeff Fender Buick GMC in Tifton, means you get a pistol from the gun store next door as part of the deal.

The General Manager says they've sold about 20 new vehicles as well as several used cars and traded in vehicles as well.

The gun shop, located behind the dealership, has gotten a tremendous uptake in business as well.

People of all ages came in to take part in the deal even a 67 year old grandmother.

It's only a $200 gun, if that, so it isn't much of a deal.

I remember that gun store when it first opened, back then only the front counter had the in stock-weapons and the rest was a normal pawn store. Although it was at least 5-6 years ago, or even longer than that.

You know the advertisement is a nice thorn in the side to local liberals though!   ;)

Both of them? Given that this is Tifton, Georgia they're probably the best armed people in town. ;)

You guys would be surprised............. there's plenty of liberal asshats to go around in Tifton......though I will admit most are transplants from elsewhere.   ;)   ;D

As a side note, I've bought a few vehicles from Fender (still own one) and they used to cut pretty fair deals back in the early 2000's, especially with the corporate discount I got through my employer (just above invoice + no paperwork fees and such could save a few grand). Hell, I'd take a $200 pistol to boot. ;)

Probably students at ABAC.  ;D

Although I do know for a fact that Tifton has, per capita, more Phd's than any other city in Georgia. Plus there's the experiment station and UGA installations so there's bound to be a few lefty's over there.  ;)

Exactly.....
We actually have some pretty brilliant folks in this area who are on the cutting edge of ag/technical research....... they just couldn't pour water out of a boot with the instructions on the heel.........if you get my drift.

I will comment on the statement (FQ, I believe made it) about a lot of armed folks in Tifton............ the only car-jacking going on is when someone has a flat tire. In all seriousness though, home invasions were on the rise in the area a few years back.......right up until a few invaders met their doom at the hands of armed citizens and then suddenly they tapered of a good bit. Like the 67 year old lady mentioned in the article in the OP, you even have to watch out for sweet little old ladies. My m-i-l packs a .32-20 Robert Johnson Special in her pocketbook.   ;D
