The T-14 shotgun is developed by Turkish company Safir Arms now present in USA as Safir Arms USA Willingboro NJ. It is broadly based on the famous Ar-15 / M16 rifle, but has several patented features necessary for reliable functioning with shotgun-type ammunition. At the present time it is offered in only one caliber, .410x65 (also known as 36 gauge, 2 /12 inch chamber). With .410 caliber bullet weighting 7.5 gram (116 grains) manufacturer claims muzzle velocity in 700 m/s (2,290 fps) range, providing muzzle energy of about 1,800 Joules (1,320 ft-lbs). The T-14 shotgun is semi-automatic only and is available in different barrel lengths to make it legal for civilian use
.410 upper is a standard AR 15 upper which can be used on any standard AR lower. The gun comes with 5 round magazine. 10 and 13 rounds magazines are an option, can be purchased too. The upper takes Safir Mags only. We already have about 2000 guns and 500 uppers in USA market, sold through the distributor. We have about 20,000 guns in other parts of the world, mostly Europe and South America. Currently the guns are manufactured by our parent factory, Safir Arms in Turkey. We have just setup our distribution center in NJ and manufacturing facility is being setup too. The first shipment is in USA as of today. All warranty support will be provided from NJ.

OK
This is obviously a commercial post, but lets let it ride as its an interesting one. A .410 upper for an AR? I know Rob has a .410 Saiga and likes it, and there are a few Judge fans out there. Any thoughts on an AR .410?
FQ13 who wonders about the mags. How much? By who? And will they really fit a standard lower?

You get the same muzzle energy as the 5.56 in a less efficient cartrigde so the 5.56 is more powerful at any distance beyond the muzzle. Still it would be cool if it works.

Looks like fun. Was checking out a Saiga yesterday for $725.

MSRP for T-14 is $799.00 , However, dealers have special pricing.

The word worthless comes to mind....
Have you priced .410 ammo? After shooting this thing for a month you would be begging for 5.56 prices.
Gee, slow 410 with rainbow trajectory or high speed 5.56?
The gun comes with 5 round magazine. 10 and 13 rounds magazines are an option, can be purchased too. The upper takes Safir Mags only.
Perfect.

The AR was adapted to 12 Ga. back in the early 80's, and that was select fire.
No one bought that either.

Politicians with an agenda and silly little girly men have no use for 12 Gauge... ;)
Just imagine the potential for jams combining plastic shotgun shells and an AR! :o Call it "Single shot only" and be done with it.
