Only five miles? You might have to spray for mall ninjas. Personally I would be torn. I would expect a lot of overpriced crap done up in digital cammo. On the other hand, the sheer entertainment value might be worth the price of admission.

LOL! If you can tell me which chemical to use, I'd like to set out a few traps in every indoor shooting range I've ever visited. Pretty sure they go there to reproduce. :-\
"Tactical Gear Expo". Why do I envision a LOT of airsoft stuff at such an event? :-\
-
This is in conjunction with a Blade show and I'm going because of the C3 Defense. They make AR lowers and now silencers. They're also a GA company located just one county west of me....Dallas, GA
I suspect that what we'll see is a lot of survival stuff.
The wife is interested in putting some survival food aside and I'm looking at ccw holsters, silencers and maybe a blade or two.

OK, repeat after me - boxes that hold cartridges in guns are called magazines, not clips, and cans that suppress the sound of the gun firing are called suppressors, not silencers. ;)

I know that Alf knows better, but who of us hadn't been attacked by the Haz for clipping ;D

I'll take exception to this. I've never liked the term suppressors. It always sounds like being politically correct in trying to avoid what it really is......a silencer. It may be in vogue at the present and I won't object to those who use it.
I'll stand with the federal statues which call the device a silencer. The only reference I can find to suppressor is in regards to FLASH suppressor.
From the Gun Control Act of 1968 TITLE 18, CHAPTER 44 SECTION 921(a)24 says:
The terms "firearm silencer"and "firearm muffler" mean any device
for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm,
including any combination of parts, designed or redesigned, and intended for
use in assembling or fabricating a firearm silencer or firearm muffler, and any
part intended only for use in such assembly or fabrication.

You go Alf! PC in all its forms pisses me off, and sometimes we are as bad as the other side. The only time its justified is when using the wrong term, like "automatic," creates confusion whether deliberately or through ignorance. When it comes to suppresors, silencers, mufflers, cans, or whatever its all the same.

"muffler", while correct, doesn't sound NEAR as cool as "silencer". Ore even "suppressor". Lets start "Stealth Keg" as a trend!
Get it used in a movie, and that's IT! ;) (How dorks around the world learned to call nitrous oxide "Noss") ::)
Don't forget, there are no laws against owning or using a "Stealth Keg"!

So the Tactical Gear Expo was somewhat of a bust. Only abut 24 vendors. Talked to a guy about custom leather. And discovered a new store carrying tactical and survival stuff. Will visit them next week, cause they only had a smattering of stuff at the show.
BUT. The Blade show was excellent. It's been almost 7 years since I went to this show and it's amazing how many companies and craftsmen there are out there in the blade marketplace. Parking lot was jammed and probably 500+ people inside the small convention center at any given time.
I stopped in the SOG booth and help my pal Lee with the picture-taking and the autographs. Here's one of him getting his picture taken with another attendee.

Sorry it is a little shaky. Taken with my cell phone. I didn't bring the real camera cause Lee forgot to tell me he was in town. The line was 100 deep for an autograph and photo. I just went to the head of the line. (Could have been security was dragging me to the back of the line when I snapped this.)
The lovely Miss Kitty looked at some cutlery, but she prefers CutCo and they weren't there. We talked to some dealers and finally ended up at the Benchmade booth. Talked about their red-line being made in China and how it has the H&K and Harley names so that now anything with their logo is made in USA. I whipped out my Pikka II (made in China) with THEIR label and they offered to a deep discount if I replaced there at the show with a made in the USA blue label. The wife took them up on it for my father's day present and I now have a McHenry & Williams designed AXIS lock folder (#710DLC) This is a modified clip point. I'd prefer a full clip point, but this will do.

So all in all not a bad little outing this Saturday.
