It's a (needed) tool that is being incorrectly used. While it is "justified" under "officer safety" it is deployed far too often simply because it is available and its existence (and accompanying budget) needs validation.
I am afraid that I will be killed if they enter my house in such a fashion because I will be doing my best to kill them.

I bet a lot of no knock raids could be solved less violently and more safely to officers and innocents by waiting the BG's out and getting them as they enter or exit a no knock target.

Most are nothing but sensational BS that could be better handled with less expense and drama by simply knocking on the door.
But then there would be no reason for most PD's to have APC's and cool rifles. ::)
