Title: New FAL in the house...watch its transformation
Post by: kilopaparomeo on June 26, 2011, 09:22:32 AM
Got a new FAL this week...my others were lonely.

I've had a jonesing for a psuedo-Izzy clone for a while.  Something about the buttstock, wood and metal handguard and shorter barrel that I just love.

Got this one as a donor for the project.  That's my DSA StG58A 21" on top and the DSA SA58 Para on bottom.  The new DSA is in the middle.  I also picked up 19 Steyr mags in the deal...most have surface rust but should clean up just fine.

Here's what we're going to do:

Here's my model of what I want it to look like in the end.

You S(@# so bad!!!   >:(

SUPER versatile, perfect caliber, good ergonomics, cheap parts, so reliable makes a Timex watch look like an Stoner design...  You S@#$!

DSA is currently making the finest rifles money can buy IMO...  Jealous!   :'(

You should move to the South before winter comes.  And let your new neighbors play with your toys.   ;)

Aaah the old SLR, they, like the AR15 have been tweaked to near perfection over the years, still hardly ideal for a dash up a Belfast street though  :)

And what would you carry on a rainy night in Belfast? If not the SLR, than an M4, or just an AK?

Well....during the period that the squaddies were issued SLR's and what else may have been available I'd go with an Uzi, H&K MP5, Walther MP or a Sterling.

All I can say Kilapaparomeo is, "Wow!". Owning a FAL has always been a dream. Nice find.
