Took a whole week off. Didn't have "real" internet access, so I tried to keep up with you folks using the smart phone and Tapatalk. It's okay in a pinch, but I don't like trying to use the small screen. So I wasn't making my normal, snappy, to-the-point commentaries.
This vacation was truly a do-nothing, sit and read, watch some movies and consume inebriating substances. So since, I know you are dieing to know where I was here's a short picture montage.
Holden Beach, NC. Just over the border from SC. This was my "office" for a week.

The interesting thing about this stretch of NC is the beach runs east and west. This pictures are all taken looking south. The roof over the porch was enough to keep us in the shade all day. The reason the Wright brothers went to NC to test their planes was...............WIND. This was a nice enough beach but the constant winds were a bummer. You'll notice in the pictures there was hardly ever a real clear sky.
The condo we rented was Christened "Endless Summer" and had this sign by the front door.

Oh oh. Gun related. Yes, visited several gun stores and pawn shops but didn't buy anything. Visited Ant Hill Range, but didn't get to shoot and stopped in some range in Wilmington, but all of this activity cut into the primary objective of the trip.....to do nothing.

One bottle a day????
24 bottles in a case, 24 hours in a day. Coincidence? I think not. - attributed to Paul Newman.

Five hours of weed whacking? One word M'llette. Goats. You can buy them for about $75-$100 a pop, turn them loose on your lakeshore and they have food and water. Zero maintainence. Zero weeds and they are fairly cute and affectionate. Just saying.

I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say those were just the ones he had with his cerial in the morning. ;)
GOATS left to their own doing are faaaaarrrrrr from "no maintenance" :o :o :o. I'd compare a boored goat to something along the lines of a F4 tornado. ;D You've clearly not owned goats good sir!

Time well spent my friend, welcome back. ;D

You remember in grade school we had to "interpret" those graphs with the stick figures? Each figure represented so many actual things. Okay this was one of those exercises. Each bottle represents...&^*&$*^!$%&^ <signal lost> #@$(*%+_) <signal restored>
Also not counted are the red wine in the evening, the blenders of daiquiris or the...
Coming home and going back to work has been......a sobering experience.
Oh and the trash was picked up 3 times while we were there........

Reminds me of of Little River, Murrell's Inlet, North Myrtle Beach,.....Oak Island... Calabash. 20 years there makes me want to get back there mui pronto.
