Title: Michele Bachman: Sarah Palin's Sarah Palin
Post by: fightingquaker13 on June 28, 2011, 05:19:45 AM
Bachman started her Iowa campaign in Waterloo Iowa. She said she'd channel the spirit or another great Iowan, John Wayne, who had also lived in Waterloo.
Her words were:""Well what I want them to know is just like, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That's the kind of spirit that I have, too."
The problem? John Wayne (Marion Morrison) the actor  lived in Winterset, half a state away. The John Wayne that lived in Waterloo? John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer clown. DOH! ;D
FQ13 who is buying his microwave popcorn at Sams Club now. The GOP primaries are just getting started and its already better than the WWE. ;)
I mean seriously, Newt and his p@$$Y whipped Greek cruise and staff revolt? Romney violating the laws of physics trying to differentiate Mass care from Obama care? Palin's non-candidacy? Ron Paul  playing the right wing  Ralph Nader?  And its barely even summer. Hell, James Carville couldn't have made this stuff up if you caught him sober. ;D :-\

I'd much prefer someone that gets this level of minutia incorrect (even though Duke's parents did live in Waterloo) to someone that thinks there are 57 states.

Oh that's right; democrats make gaffes that show they are human while republican gaffes show they are stupid.

You are such a product of the pop culture.

Oh c'mon  on Itchiban, tell me thats not funny. And tell me you wouldn't be ROFL if a Dem had said it. You need to lighten up and enjoy the humor of the primary season. Just like baseball in the fall, it only gets better from here.

Oh, I appreciate the irony for the name gaffe.

It's just that the LSM has been hitting this pretty hard as well as talking about how week and dysfunctional the Republican primary field is.  Then, right on schedule, you parrot the same line.  Maybe it's that there is no Democratic primary that allows the LSM to pound the Reps so hard this time around as they don't have to even pretend to be balanced in their "coverage."

Hypocrisy, demagoguing, and hyperbole really annoy me.  Needless to say, I seem to be in a constant state of annoyance.

Then be prepared to stay annoyed my friend. One thing the LSM has right is that thus far the GOP does have a weak field. I'm curious about Huntsman, but beyond him, I'm not all that impresed. Cain was interesting, but the more I see, the less I like him. Its still early days though. Seriously though, enjoy the humor. Primaries are fun if you enjoy politics and appreciate dark comedy.

I thought "comedy" was supposed to be funny.

I'm sure Chris Matthews thinks it's hilarious and we all know what a tard that guy is.

Y'all really ought to listen to yourselves. You'd be laughing it was Biden who said it. Since its a conservative you've got your panties in a twist. Does the word hypocrite ring a bell here? As a Libertarian I get to laugh at both parties (I'd laugh at my own if we actually had one). You guys? You really need to watch your blood pressure. ::)

Are you perhaps referring to forum member ICHIBAN  ?

Why am I not surprised that you would be "curious" about a "moderate" (read RINO ) that most people have never heard of, and "not impressed" with any of the candidates who actually espouse American beliefs ?
We know you'll ridicule Bachman, because you are a sexist tool of your indoctrination in academe.
I'm just surprised you aren't singing the praises of Romney.

As you said, I'm a sexist. ::) I'd never sing the praises of someone who uses that much hair gell. 8)

...... someone that thinks there are 57 states.

Man you don't even know your geography.  There are 60 states.

What he said was the "....57 states plus the 3 he hadn't visited yet."

See that makes it better.

What do you guys expect from FQ?

He's probably written his class syllabus based on the "John Stewart School of Misogyny!"

It's little wonder you're still single FQ!

FIFY - plus a correction - Big L = Libertarian Party, little "l" = conceptual libertarian. Jeesh, do I have to teach you everything? ? ? ?  ???  ::)

Actually, I've never needed to wonder about that. Kinda self-evident, no?   ;)

I read through this entire thread mainly because I curious how badly several of you "gentlemen" were going to take FQ to task for his remarks. I wasn't going to post any comments but I just have to now.

I don't necessarily agree or disagree with what FQ posts but I do enjoy what his says. It's always entertaining. I read what some of you post about he and what he posts and I have to wonder whatever happened to the tolerance there was in this country, at one time, for the right to free speech. I suppose that with this type of communication being somewhat anonymous we can say anything we care to without fear. But that is not why I'm posting.

What has finally gotten to me is the fact that supposedly intelligent adults have the courage to find fault with typing and spelling skills when they use the wrong word (week instead of weak, there instead of their, you get my drift I'm sure) as part of their rant. It seems to me, if you're going to correct someones (sp) use of the language you should make sure you are correct.

Rant over.

Pecos who will check later for all the shots I'll take for this.

I just wish Obama's Medal of Honor gaffe got commensurate attention from the media.  If it was such a great honor, you'd think he would actually act like he'd been present at the event.

And, yes, FQ is right.  Obama is the weakest Socialist candidate in years, yet the Democrats-who-call-themselves-Republicans can't find a candidate that more than 6 people will vote for.

But, FQ voted for Obama anyway!
