Title: What Did You Think of TBD:Survival Season 3, Episode 1?
Post by: justbill on June 29, 2011, 07:19:35 PM
So the first episode of season three has aired at least twice for East Coast viewers. What's your opinion? Me personally, I'm glad to see TEOTWAWKI dentistry is being examined. Seriously bad teeth can be lethal if left untreated. Even something as benign as gingivitis could morph into something far worse over time. My emergency kits all include at least a few one time use toothbrushes in an effort to prevent greater problems.

Interesting, enjoyable, informative on a shallow level, more exposure than anything else. Again, not a big fan of the magazine format. There just isn't enough time to go into anything in sufficient detail to make it truly informative.

And what's up with Janich's left eye? He kept closing it or squinting with it when he did the bit about securing the window in the lower level bathroom.

I know it sounds petty, but I started this one over on The Best Defense:  Survival forum earlier.

I'd ignore it, but the guy with the deadly finger responded to mine   :P

I agree Path, but at the same time I'm amazed by how deep they go into some things.  When you think of the liability issues can you imagine the lawsuits if someone buys an emergency dental kit and pulls their kids' teeth because they were shown how on TBD: Survival?   :o

I noticed that too.  It reminded me of when I get sweat or something in my eye.

Try this: Get in a bathroom that's about 6X8 feet in size, put a 1000 watt video light bank just inside the door and stare into it while you talk for a few minutes. I'd bet you'll squint a bit too...

Stay safe,

Mike

My wife is a nurse....so, when the dental thing came up I left and she stayed.  I have a long standing issue with dentists...I know I gotta have them but I don't have to like it.

It's great it was on the show.  It was appropriate and well timed...not too much and not too little to get started bare bones with.  I did end up watching it....curled in a fetal position quaking maybe...but I did watch.
