I remember a thread running a while back on this subject. I don't want to beat a dead horse or anything, but has anyone personally had any training in this system? If so, would you recommend it to anyone else? What are the merits/drawbacks of such a shooting system? Gimmick or potentially life saving training? Seems like most of the information and video out there of this stuff is made by airsofters and kids, thanks to video games featuring the system.
Here's a bit of video with Paul Castle, inventor of the C.A.R. System.

Certainly hope he doesn't fire one off while in the position noted around the 5:30 mark......ouch. :o

One question comes to mind - WHY?

I'd want to know something about his background. Has anybody actually shot at him ? Or did he just work this out with his mates at the pub ?

First off this guy practices Reloads alot. LOL.
Second I would be shooting with my none dominate eye. And so would most people. And if you switched it would be shooting off your reaction hand or non dominate hand instead of your firing hand.
In a situation that goes to shit very fast, like one minute your sitting drinking coffee to guy walks in Starbucks and starts shooting everyone he sees, my opinion and what has happened to me when I have had to make a quick decision is I grabbed with dominate hand and used dominate eye. Its easiest and what your body naturally does. Or like I said mine does.
Also this guys practices reloads alot.
This would be a good tactic maybe for a shield gunner on a SWAT team. Maybe? I dont know never did it.
This practices reloads alot. And I bet in pressure situation it would never work that way.
Im with Tom Lets shoot at him and see what happens. At least with most other forms of training you have a base (stand square draw weapon fire and if you can do this...) to just let loose rounds during, as MB says, a chaos situation.
HE REALLY PRACTICES RELOADS ALOT.
Those are my thoughts and if this works for you great. I just dont think it would for me.
