Somebody sure doesn't like John Hancock!
One of the most famous concerns John Hancock and his comically large signature.
with John Hancock's famously bold scribble,
Red emphasis mine
There are a lot of legends and myths in history, ours and others, that make the stories better. There is nothing wrong with researching and bringing out the facts for the masses. But, what did John Hancock do to Mr. Krumboltz to get his signature labeled as "comical" or as a "scribble?"
For me, I will read and remember much. I remember many of his facts from 6th grade history. But, I am not going to use Mike Krumboltz's story as a major part of my reading and research of our history. This guy is obviously a victim of what many call reporting and journalism today. For some reason it has become better to make jokes of what has been done than to just report the plain facts >:(

I'm not sure why this is a big deal anyway. There are a lot of "back stories" concerning our founding fathers. There are a lot of "fables" as well. None of which diminishes the historical significance of what they did.
I'm currently reading a book about some of this history, which I'll review after I finish. One of the things I find fascinating is the lengths some of the founding fathers went through in trying to preserve Indian sovereignty. The history of the Creek chief, McGillivray is fascinating. Had Washington succeeded in granting the Creeks foreign country status, I could have grown up in another country. The Ogeechee river, where I spent my childhood in GA, would have been one of the boundaries between the US and the Creeks.

Agreed. The comedy is with Krumboltz and his commentary...not news, not research results...comedy.
What a tool.

Come on guys.
His name is "Krumboltz" of course he has a hard-on at the world.

I was thinking the same thing.
