I think the point is he DID manage to shoot himself the first time.

Mall Ninja is being generous.

I never watched the other video, I just wrote it off as "some dumb ass shoots himself".
After I read CR post, the first 10 seconds was all I needed to see.  ;D

Well, he's mastered the 8 second reload. ::) And he has certainly got the maintaining steely eyed eye contact with the carboard target down. But WTF was the weird slow turning in circles at the range deal? Was he looking for a place to lift his leg or something?  ;D

it was a poorly done scan for other attackers.

Wouldn't you do that before you took 8 seconds to reload and maybe, I don't know, do it quickly or well, while moving in some direction or another?

FQ, you have missed the whole point.
Here's a little limerick to help you remember,

When in danger,
Or in doubt.
Run in circles,
Scream and shout.

Got that from a African military manual.    ;D

I really don't know which is worse......the 'tactics' or the fact that he thought well enough of them to post the video.

As a far stretch, I can see the original posting of the shooting (to some extent) if he really and truly did it as a safety lesson to others. But the second video seems less about "redemption" and more along the lines of an explanation of how he managed to arrive at the first video.   ::)

**I say the above with the thought that a video of me shooting might also look like a buffon to many.....but I don't video myself shooting either.  ;D
YMMV

All the videos you see demonstrating the "threat scan" after shooting tends to be slow.

I'm guessing it is for two reasons.  One is safety.  Change gears, get out of "shoot mode", make sure finger is off the trigger, then look around "gently"

The second reason might be conforming to the training doctrine:  Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

In either case, if you are genuinely under fire, I suspect adrenalin will be shifting you to "quick time" when needed.

His leg crossing dance while "pivoting" invites a stumble too.

For some reason I think this is the image most urban liberals have when they think of gun owners.  Specially the Texas or Southern variety (even though this mope is in Illinois, IIRC).

Since you guys have been so receptive to Tex, maybe you'll appreciate Tex showing how buff he is while throwing a spear at a target in his front yard. I'm sure his neighbors appreciated that performance more than all....And I know Cold Steel appreciate his product endorsement too..... ;D  ;D

When he first got his 15 minutes of fame one of the other boards had a link to an audio of his discussion of some of his B&D practices.    "And then I slid her sweatpants down."  I shudder at the thought of truly frightening mental images that brought forth.  Sadly it was quickly restricted so I can't share it with you all.   :'(

Perhaps  he works night shift in a morgue and he likes to dress his ladies before they get intimate.
