Title: Server problem solved

Howdy folks!

We are now experiencing record traffic and the server almost went belly up for us.

This afternoon, our tech support replaced a unit controlling the disk speed which hopefully will make the site faster.

We apologize for the inconvenience the last couple of days.

Actually, the whole site is run through several locations (servers), but the main "engine" hauling all the info (text, images, video, audio, ads) into the pages had some "muscle problems". In addition, all servers have their dedicated backup disks.

If it wasn't for all that, I would be a wreck....  ;D

Well, if anyone gives a flying fat patootie.. I  am a wreck. What with all of this Heller case..and the (http://www.rightnation.us/forums/style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Income taxes I'm working on.. and trying to lose a few pounds and trying to cut back on my eating ..... and I have to set right beside Marshal all day long while he is crunching and munching non stop .
I swear..  one more time he brings in a bowl of potato chips ...............(http://www.rightnation.us/forums/style_emoticons/default/hunter.gif)  well... don't say I didn't warn him......

POTATO CHIPS??? You can't believe how much I miss Potato Chips...and red meat and gravy and and and food that tastes like something!  Sometimes being healthy really sucks.  Twenty years ago breakfast was a Snickers bar and Dr. Pepper, now every thing's whole grain and rabbit food.

Did you look at the stats for the 18th?  688 ONLINE AT ONCE and think about the content that was beieng viewed and the bandwidth!  WOW!!

The server is stronger than ever right now with the upgrade. It is sure faster on uploading and moving around in the forum is a lot quicker.
Can the rest of you tell any difference?

And maybe it is that you only THINK it is faster..
Might be just the sugar high from all those black licorice jelly beans you are cramming in your mouth right now.

Not really, but my COMPUTER is only a little faster than the USPS
