I have heard about these for over 5 years and never saw one. But Glock decided to make a few of these. From what I'm told it's the first time in 3 years they have been available. For those who don't know it's a 6" version of the Glock 22.I put it on layaway today and in a few weeks it will be in my safe. ;D

Forgive my naivety. But what do you do with it? :-\
Doesn't look like a CCW gun, target plinking is .22 & 9mil territory, combat carry is .45...
Hunting coyote or rabbit with it would be really fun! But :-\.

As Alf said, it was the predecessor to the Glock 35 and is meant for competition. And I liked it because it is unique.

I don't think this is the case considering the 34 and 35 have a barrel length of 5.3". But I do think this has something to do with their 25 year anniversary they are touting.

Very general explanation:
In USPSA, a competitor is scored by time and points to get what is known as a hit factor. A person who shoots .40 and up will get more points given a certain type of hit than one who shoots 9mm and .38. Whereas in IDPA it doesn't matter about caliber unless one is shooting in CDP where it's .45 ACP only.

Congrat's. I sold mine back in May to pay for my NRA Instructor Course. Had less than 500 rounds through it. Miss the hell out of the pistol. Extremely accurate. Was worth it in the end and someone else can make her a safe queen.

Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation. You gonna leave it stock or go for the gusto! I've seen pics of 24's with different porting, and Doctor red dots milled down into the slide. I noticed the extended slide stop in the pic., is that standard on Glocks now? Or a factory option? At least three of the dealers I've visited at shows have told me they can order and have in a few weeks any model I wanted, any color I wanted (I was asking about the brown / OD green frames), with or without porting, and a bunch of other stuff all from directly from Glock. Basically, for each specification I asked about, they wanted another $50 bucks. ::)

I don't think I'll make any permanent changes to the slide; will change sights though to Warren Tactical Rear w/Sevigny front F/O in green. And I definitely will keep the thread on your trigger mods close by. That was one the best threads I have come across in a long time on this board..... 8) :)
And speaking of OD green, I remember when no one wanted it because it wasn't considered "tacti-cool" but now I hear about how people now want Glock to start making pistols like that again. The gun crowd can be a fickle bunch at times.... ::)

They are really cool. Like carrying a extended magnum but it is a Glock. ;D You will have many years of enjoyment with it. Glockmeister had a few G24's and G17L's in a advertisement I saw the other day. I think if I were to get another I would opt for the Glock 35.
Did notice Sprinfield Armory is putting out a pistol similar to the Glock 34/35.
