Title: Seems to be my week for aquisitions:
Post by: Bic on August 08, 2011, 07:23:13 PM
Here's a Springfield 1911 I got today, not such a steal as the Hi-Power but reasonable non-the-less. Aftermarket ambi-safety (owner was a lefty) new grips (original in box) Novaks, trigger and ramp job by Alex Hamilton.....swwweeeeeet!
As a fellow left hander,...I can vouch that performance will be unaffected by your righthandedness.... ;D

Yeah thanks guys, I know where to buy them, I guess my query was illphrased - How much of a PITA is it to fit it myself?

Fitting isn't too bad, just polish off any burrs and all the surfaces that rub against the frame and you're pretty much set.I use an extra long trigger in my Colt 1911 and it was close to a drop in fit.

Or if you're not handy call MCBrides in Austin. They've been there since forever and have very good gunsmiths for a fair rate. Make a day of it. Drop the pistol, eat a good meal and catch some music. FQ13

Lookin good.
I like the longer, lighter trigger myself. I'm enjoying my 1911 more since I put it in.
Stock triggers are cheap and easy to replace. B or M as others have said.
