From David Codrea:
FBI adds ‘preppers’ to potential terrorists list
“An FBI Denver Joint Terrorism Task Force handout being distributed to Colorado military surplus store owners lists the purchase of popular preparedness items and firearms accessories as ‘suspicious’ and ‘potential indicators of terrorist activities,’” an exclusive report by Oath Keepers reveals.
Essentially, the government is conflating Americans who believe in being prepared for disruptions in normal circumstances with potential domestic enemies who bear scrutiny, and are recruiting those they patronize to spy and snitch on their customers. As potential terrorists. For such suspicious activities as buying storable food. And paying in legal tender.

Its spelled irony folks. Embrace the concept. Hell, the idea of Marshall with his cowboy hat on sideways and sporting some bling with his vaquero held gangsta style....... ;D ;D ;D ;D And for those of you who don't get this, here's a great country band from Austin called The Gourds doing Snoop Dogg's "Gin And Juice", all accoutic with a mandolin, cause "they got their mind on their money and their money on their mind". ;D Its irony yo! (Its also a surprisingly good song by a damn good band. Listen for laughs, check out some of their other stuff based on how well they play even when they are goofing around. These guys are the real thing).

Aw crap, not another list to have your name on. I wonder if they cross check all the list in their databases and if you pop up on too many list you get a visit. I probably buy too many groceries ahead of time, have too much ammo, and spend too much time on net sights like this along with too many friends like Tom. And if the government thinks I'm bad, I'm sure there are a few of my neighbors they're more interested in. Just to make sure I'm not left out:

Just one question......How do they track a cash purchase if you don't give your name? Granted, yes most of these places are smaller operations. (I'll use Emergency Essentials in Salt Lake) My friend lives there and buys quite a bit from them. He has also bought alot for me also. We always have used cash when making these purchases, simply for security reasons. We know the sales people by name, and they know us. They are definitely like minded people, and would consider them friends. I doubt that they would rat us out.
This is also a tactic we use frequently when making purchases for our sports equipment. 5-6 of us go in together to make a LARGE order 2-3 times a year. We bypass the internet thing and go straight to customer service. "We are making a huge order here, so are you willing to work with us on price" Almost always the answer is yes. We have developed a repore with the dealers. Same with the distributors we use for prep stuff. I just don't see these places ratting on their better customers and selling them down the river. These people are business owners for one, and you don't sell out your customers, and for another thing, they understand the mindset, and are of the same mind. I just don't see them betraying fellow Patriots.
But then again, I think I may have too much faith in people sometimes. ::)

Looks like the government is suspicious of any signs of independence or efforts to be prepared.
I expect ice makers to be added to the list soon.

Generators, and I won't be shocked if they try to limit the amount of fuel you can buy at one time. To go on a hunting trip for a week, between vehicle and gas cans, I bet I fill up with 50 gallons. I MUST be a terrorist. Why else would someone need that much gasoline?
Path understands, where we live when the sign says no services for 200 miles, it means 200 miles! :o

Here's the thing.....Like your debit card? Kinda nice, quick and easy right?
Well, do you think a copy of your receipt, and your purchases, just stays between your bank and the merchant?
NOT!!!
Stores use the data to compile sales, what's selling, what's not, marketing campaigns,etc,..
For one second, do you think just the "store" has access?
So if you stock up at Sam's Club, and pay with a debit/credit,,,,,Bass Pro,,,,Wally World, Gun Show, grocery store, etc,.....or those wireless RFID card readers,...at flea markets, whatever....
People that want that info, can get that info.....
Next time you order 1000rds. and 10 mags, and water purification tabs, or MRE's,.10 cans of chicken soup and tuna, MOLLE gear, who the **** knows.
???
George Orwell is saying "I told you so".....
(putting my tin foil hat back on now)....
Credit card gas purchases at St. Augustine gas stations, were limited to $75. With a company card....
Hmmmm,.....

That's why it is so easy to get a credit card, they can't track cash.
Notice every once in a while they float the idea of doing away with cash ?
Ever wonder why Govt. organizations like the National Guard only pay by direct deposit ?
They want to encourage you to just use your ATM debit card so they can track your purchases.

DUDE! You did not just post that! :o Let me speak for Crusader, TW and every other Floridian on this board when I say that if I never hear of Elian, El Pescador "the Miami relatives" and Marisleis (or however the f..k you spell it) it will be too soon. Honestly, will the last American to leave Dade County bring the Flag? :P
FQ13 who has vowed that if I ever win the powerball I will buy a billboard of Fidel at the intersection of 1-95 and Calle Ocho with big red letters saying "Socialismo O Muerte. Not because I like socialism or Fidel, far from it. Its just because the arrogance, corruption and clannishness of the Miami Cubans (half of whom still haven't learned English) has to be experienced to be believed. These people would piss off a saint.
Rant over.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know the story of Alien Gonzales. The point was about how the Feds (over)react to every situation. Normally under Dumb-ocratic AGs.

Wasn't he actually a LEGAL alien??
That was probably the best (least F'd up) operation run by the Clinton/Reno Gestapo.

I guess the local high school football team is under scrutiny. They have been stocking up on TP for the annual ritual of TPing the coaches house the night before the first game in a couple of weeks.

Be sure they see the video on the TP bomb. It'll save them a lot of time and you don't want the starting QB throwing out his arm trying to get a roll over the roof. ;D

No, he was a survivor of a refugee boat that sank killing his mother. they awarded temporary custody of him to some Miami relatives while they fought for months in court whether to let him stay with them or send him back to his father who was still in Cuba.
Eventually his Father got custody, but the relatives put up a fuss about him going back.
They publicly threatened to resist the US Marshals, that's why the raided the house geared up like an assault team. Overwhelming force prevented violent resistance but that photo was a PR disaster.

Their being US citizens somewhat hampered that.
But look on the bright side, they had probably voted Janet Reno for Gov of Fla. ;D

Open Letter to the Denver Joint Terrorism Task Force & Colorado Information Analysis Center. I turn myself in for making bulk purchases of surplus.

Dear Domestic Political Spies,
Per your recent diktat "Potential Indicators of Terrorist Activities Related to Military Surplus Stores," I would like to turn myself in. You indicate as “potential indicators of terrorist activities,” people who:
“Make bulk purchase of items to include:
Weatherproofed ammunition or match containers
Meals Ready to Eat
Night Vision Devices; night flashlights; gas masks
High capacity magazines
Bi-pods or tri-pods for rifles”
This is to inform you that I have purchased all of these items, most of them in bulk, from surplus stores all over the country during the past twenty years. As these are legal items and there is no law prohibiting bulk purchases, nor is there any law demanding that ID be shown when purchasing them, I intend to do so again and again until you stop me.
Now it may not have occurred to you, but these items are not generally purchased by Jihadis. They are however purchased by apolitical "preppers," so-called "survivalists" and members of the armed citizenry, including the constitutional militias. None of these groups can be construed as "terrorist" in nature, with all of them motivated by a strong sense of independence and self-defense of life, liberty and property.
I am curious to know by what LAW you now seek to intimidate surplus dealers into collecting identification for such items? If there is no law, and you know that there isn't, then by what right -- other than the might of official misconduct and invention of authority -- do you do so?
Of course I understand that you are going to do this anyway, so I just thought I'd get the formalities out of the way and turn myself in as someone who, albeit law-abiding, purchases these legal items every chance I get.
If fact, I'm planning on coming to Colorado just so I can say that I bought some ammo boxes where the FBI and their local fusion center lickspittles are apparently so frightened of law-abiding preppers and the armed citizenry that they would issue such a ridiculous diktat having no basis in law.
Since your agency will shortly be facing some serious oversight hearings in the House of Representatives as a result of its law-breaking in the Terry murder and Gunwalker Scandal, I think I'll see if we can't get some eager House members to ask you about the legality of this over-stepping of legal authority as well.
Have a nice day.

They want some one else to be in control, because they are pretty much incapable of making reasoned decisions on their own.
This way when something fails they don't have to take responsibility themselves.

Of course, anybody who listens to DRR already knows that because Michael's used it as his intro before.
