I will not comment, just because I don't need to. The "Violence Policy Center" folks are......well, you can fill in the blanks. It's early in the morning and I already need a drink. Oh well, we're winning and those NRA dues seem cheaper by the minute. :P

Yep.......they got us "dead-to-rights"............another one of those "It's the 1/10th of 1% that give the rest a bad name" thing.

Well, since we can forget about the % of bad apples, as they do, we need to make a video showing the police officers killed by non-ccw holders.
I suspect the list will be much longer thus proving, according to their logic, that everyone should be a CCW holder to reduce Police Officer homicides.
Found some numbers here http://www.virginiacops.org/News-Resources/articles/News%2008/feb08/inlineofduty.htm
During the 70s Officers killed by gunfire averaged 127 per year.
During the 80s it was 87
During the 90s 68
During the 2000s 59
So, since May of 2007 to May of 2011 (4 years and assuming the averages have held) 236 Officers have been killed by gunfire, 227 of them by non-CCW holders.
Therefor it is plain to see that non-CCW holders kill more that 25 times the number of Police Officers than CCW holders.
The "Common Sense" solution is to require everyone to become a CCW Holder and reduce these needless deaths to 1/25th of what they are now. Do it for the Officers Children.
***************************************************************************************
These decreases occurred all during the time period the number of CCW permit holders was growing at it's fastest.
I also found that it is likely that much of the decrease is due to the expanding use of body armor by Officers.
It was also noted that the deaths for 2010 increased by 37%. This is all deaths, not just by gunfire. It appears traffic accidents and heart attacks on duty kill more officers than gunfire. The number killed in gunfights remained 59, the average for gunfire deaths for the 2000s. You can find this story here.

I think a video of the number of CCW holders that have helped stop a violent offender before the police show up would be better.
-
Or how about the number of law abiding citizens killed by cops in the same period ?
-
+100, That's the statistics I want to see ???

Most of these shootings were ALLEGEDLY. They're not proven to be fact. And how many CCWs didn't kill cops?

Noticed that too. These are years old. Were the charges dropped, were they acquitted? It seems like this is just a smear, facts be damned. I don't care nearlly enough to research the cases, but I do wonder.
