The more important is in the quote: California is losing a major shooting event!
-
I think it was discussed here about Ca. losing its ride for this event. Seems the anti-gun state will be losing another major draw.
However, I wish I could be there for the festivities....Perhaps in another more firearm "friendly" state,....this can become a reality.
-
It's slow, but it's happening.
NY lost their signature competition as well.
-
Perhaps Florida? Georgia? Texas? Carolinas? Hell even the show me state for logistics can do better than NY or Ca.
Reap what you sow,....
-
The 2012 Steel Challenge is in Florida next year.... good location...opposite coast and way more gun-friendly.
-
I was being a wise azz, I was referring to the Creedmore matches that became Camp Perry around 1880.
Like I said, a slow process.
-
<squinting> My eyes aren't what they used to be
I would imagine only Californians are lamenting this "last" match. The rest of us are rejoicing. Stick it, California.
-
The match in Indiana would be nice!!! ;D
-
Alf, I did you a favor by leaving it small. At your age she would kill you ;) However, if you wish to risk it you can go check out Mr. Butler's page.

I really doubt anyone outside of the local area cares. Yes, there are a few gun people that will care, but most people have no idea it was even there in the 1st place.
by CA standards its not even a draw, let alone a major one.

That's OK, They can have Gay Olympics, or whatever.
We keep the shooting sports in Free America.
-
still have the wheel gun nationals... great location.
Tom you do know that CA is not even the most restrictive when it comes to guns right? check out Hi and Ils gun laws... you want to see some crap.
-
Yes, I did know that. In fact, I have bought a pistol in Ca.
But Ca. is sooo easy to pick on ;D

Nah. Don't think so. Not my attention. And not any of my money if I can help it. I spent time in Mammoth County on business many years ago. They can be some very nice folk, and some very pretty country side around there, but no thank you as to living there.

That it does. CA is MUCH better than here. At least in Fresno county I could get a CCW, here forget it ANYWHERE. IN CA CCWs are handled at the local/cunty level and the Central Valley and Northern CA are much more willing to issue one to someone with the training and background. Here its the State Police and they have been told not to issue to anyone without a laundry list of restraints and threats to back it up. Sure the magazine limit is higher but we have a ballistic fingerprinting law that even the MSP commisioner says is a burden on the taxpayer and has no value. BTW Beretta only BARELY stayed here since they don't comply with the law. It took a BIG contract with MSP to keep them here.

Just like Bushmaster moving to NY State,....took Chucky Schumer to get that deal,....he's so pro-gun and all......

I'll tell you one that pisses me off.
Ruger has manufacturing plants in 2 of the gun friendliest states in the Union, NH and Az.
But their Corporate offices are in Conn which is little better than Mass .

No argument here Tom. Actually, with the exception of the restricted list of guns in MA, I'd vote CT as worse than MA. At least it's a bigger PITA to get license here. Once there, it's no problem and if you move out of state, it automatically converts to an out of state permit.
-
Not just the gun laws, but the corporate tax structure as well, Conn sucks in comparison to NH or Az.
And on top of that, the address on the side of a Ruger is Conn, the people who actually do the work recieve no recognition at all.

I'll go with CT sucks....and leave it there. Kinda wish (I know but I'm gonna anyway) that I'd stayed in MA.

Like they say in Monopoly, "Pass Salisbury - Collect $200 " ;D

Not always, my LCP is marked Prescott, AZ

Everyone seems to be missing the most important point. So when did Jessie Abbate become Jessie Harrison? She was still wearing an enormous ring at the NRA convention. And is she into mid-40's dudes with thinning hair and pot bellies?
SMACK!
Oh, jeez! Sorry babe, I didn't notice you reading over my shoulder. You know you're the only girl for me!
;)

The name change just happened last week. I don't know when things fell apart or when she quit hiding it, but I did notice during Friends of NRA the ring was not present - and she used to wear it a lot even when she shot. I also noticed last winter that it was missing in a lot of trophy shots even when she was dressed up for a banquet.
As much fun as it is to pursue this line, I think she was really hurt during this one. I also think the pain shows in how quiet it was and in her announcement last week. I hadn't noticed it, but yesterday when I pointed out that her photo album was empty someone pointed out to me that "he" was in many of the photos.
I'm starting to feel like a vulture circling the carcass* :-[ Have we entered the cyber equal to ladies around the coffee table in the 60's?
* But what a carcass Sorry! Two sentences of sensitivity is more than I can handle and the real me comes back out
