If Christopher Petrie had been drunk and riding a horse he would not have been in so much trouble.

But riding into town on his home-made motorised ice-box - known as an esky in Australia - was a different matter altogether.

Mr Petrie, 23, appeared before Noosa Heads magistrates' court north of Brisbane charged with riding the blue and white esky, fitted to a four-stroke motor, while under the influence of alcohol.

What no Fosters?    The Aussie's know how to party....don't 'cha?

In the US in many jurisdictions there are "motorized" vehicles which aren't considered "motor vehicles" for the purpose of Tags, Titles and Taxes.    Things like a powered skate board, or an electric wheel chair, or maybe even an "esky".  However, I think most jurisdictions also expand the definition when it comes to drunk driving, so that most any vehicle, including a horse or a unicycle, can get you in a heap of trouble if you're drunk.

I couldn't ride a unicycle sober.

What I like about the reporting in the US is that if someone on is arrested for something like singing in a park while under the influence (disturbing the peace or disorderly conduct), the news will report them as being "over the limit" when there was no motor vehicle involved or even close.

I forget the show (Worlds Dumbest or something like that), but there was a video of a guy in a motorised wheel chair toolin down the freeway at 65mph. Yeah, he got pulled over.

Has there ever been an instance of someone riding a motorized cooler while sober? ;D
FQ13 who notes the more beers you drink out it the faster it will go. That has to count for something in court right?

What's the weight differance between the beer being in the cooler or the driver?

It gets drained from the driver occasionally.
