Title: Issues
Post by: tombogan03884 on March 22, 2008, 12:35:58 AM
If any one has issues with opinions that any of us express, say so, We may disagree with you you, but you MIGHT present a veiw point that the other person had not considered. Either way just because you are disagreeing in one thread, doesn't mean it will carry over into another thread, in fact it should not. If we did not ALL share the same basic views on MAJOR subjects then we would not be here on this forum that the 3 M's have provided for us. Any group of people who always agree on EVERYTHING is freaky and scary, Marshal'ette and others have said that "we are like a big family here", ever see a family that didn't fight ocasionaly? But don't just quit, we ALL contribute to making this forum the information gold mine it is proving to be.

Well in light of that I say,

I'm not sure is many will agree but,  I believe that convicted felons that cannot be trusted with a gun shouldnt be let out of prison or off probation.  I AM NOT SAYING that felons cant have guns, but rather that if you cant be trusted with the lawful ownership of a firearm, you cant be trusted to interact with society unsupervised.

I'm not real well informed on this subject but aren't felons subject to being checked out by the Cops whenever they (the Police) feel like it or have a similar crime that they are investigating ? I read somewhere (here probably) that in many, if not all states, they lose the right to vote. With the Lautenberg bill on the books a misdemeanor will cost you your gun rights, Domestic violence, You can lose your gun rights for a yelling match with your wife if she wants to push "Verbal abuse"

Im sure it varies state to state,  this is just one of the things I think that are over complicated by todays society.  I think if you cant vote you should not be a part of this country (ie a ward of the state).  It just seems so ridiculous the simple fact that they let out rapists and murderers,  and trust that they will be safer because they cant legaly purchase a gun.  How about just not letting them out.  I gaurantee it is actually much easier to purchase a gun from a crook than it is from an FFL.  Imagine that!!!  And who wants to go through all that paperwork if they are going to scratch off the serial numbers and throw it in the lake when they are done using it.  Maybe Ive watched to many westerns!!!  You take the crooks guns away and throw him in the cell,  if by chance he actually gets out at all, the Sheriff hand him back his guns.  It seems to me that the way it is now we throw most people in jail for little reason at all,  and let the rest of them out way before they have proved themselves ready.  They are pressing felony charges on a man with 16 YEARS in the military for loaning out a weapon that missfired!!!  While we provide amnesty for murder to Sammy the Bull because he sat in court and said "he (John Gotti) told me to do it".  And guess what,  Sammy the Bull was arrested a few years later for running a multi-million dollar crystal meth and extacy ring using skinheads to his dirty work.

Sorry about the rant Tom!!!  You just got me going with the issues topic,  and trust me I got a few more!

Parole board members, judges, and defense lawyers should have to live IN the community (not gated, protected enclaves).

Don't apologize, where do you think I get the ideas for my blog. Besides, I don't disagree with these points you have made. The  justice industry is messed up, Last fall, a Philadelphia PD officer was shot and killed by a robber on his way out of the crime scene, while being chased the robber jumped off a bridge and drowned, Well according to Cam Edwards on NRA news, the robber had already served a prison sentence for killing a 6 year old girl when he was 19, E WAS ONLY 29 WHEN HE WENT IN THE RIVER  ! less than 10 years for MURDER is ridicules ! Cam has a nightly feature, "The deal of the day" several times it has been about people with histories of violent crime who walk away with PROBATION for MURDER. that is just wrong. I believe that Judges should be accountable for the sentences they hand out, Your Honor gives Felon X a light sentence then Felon X re offends, the judge goes to jail with him as an accessory because if he had not let the Felon off easy he could not have committed the second crime

I am most certainly not condoning anything here but 20 years for selling pot, and 6 for murder?  Maybe we need to redetermin what a felony is.  It is a fact that Americas prison population is substancialy higher than the entire rest of the world combined!!!  In my honest opinion it is all just money and control.  They have learned that you just cant round up and kill those who oppose you, so they label them criminals to scare people round them up and detain them.

Thats how it worked in the old Soviet Union, Honest crooks were simply making a Ruble, but Disedents were a "Danger to society"

I would arrest the system lets them out , I would arrest the system lets them out , time and time again , over and over, when is somebody going to take notice of what is going on with these people.Where is the third strike rule going to come into effect. As far  them getting guns that will always be like that just look at Australia, they took them away from the honest but the criminals still had theirs and now high crime have gone ramped. In the sate of Victoria crime has gone up 300% .  Almost all crimes committed are drug related ie: I stole it because I needed the money to buy drugs, I killed him-her because they owed me Monet for drugs and I had to set an example of what happens when you mess me over, they were trying to take over my truck. I beat my old lady because she would not give me the money to buy drugs. I could go on and on but I think and hope you get the idea. Can it .will it and is it any worse,oh hell yea Is it going to get any better, not until judges ,juries, lawyers  and the parole board changes. Until then we need to change( and it has already started too happen) to an armed society. Thats my view.
