Title: Now for something totally different.
Post by: Ichiban on September 07, 2011, 08:33:20 PM
Drunken elk rescued from Swede's apple tree
Then I went over to take a look and spotted an elk stuck in an apple tree with only one leg left on the ground,” Johansson told The Local.

.
Drunken elk are common in Sweden during the autumn season when there are plenty of apples lying around on the ground and hanging from branches in Swedish gardens.

The back story is the elk had all his money in Greek and Italian municiple bonds.  He got drunk enough to end it all,but he forgot his rope.

I'm not a wildlife biologist but is that an elk? Looks like a couple moose I've seen or do my eyes deceive me?

Pecos, who can't imagine a drunken moose.

I believe the animal called a moose in North America is called an elk in Sweden.

I wonder if hunting season coincides with fermented apple season.

Correct...it's spelled "alg" in Sweden and "elg" in Norway I think...

Scandinavian DNA runs in the family!

My grandma on the moms side was a Norwegian Iverson...settled in MN and WI...

Stay clear of the Brennevin.....ask Marshal!  It's fermented goat piss or something!  The Icelandic version is worse I think...the Swedes have their own version I'm sure!
