Cheney talks up a 2012 Hillary Clinton campaign
Hillary Rodham Clinton gained a very unlikely supporter yesterday.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney in an interview with ABC News' Jonathan Karl Wednesday offered glowing praise for the Secretary of State and 2008 presidential candidate, calling her a "pretty formidable individual" and suggested Clinton should challenge Barack Obama in 2012.
"I think she's probably the most competent person they've got ... in their cabinet. And frankly, I thought she was gonna win the nomination last time around," Cheney said. "Maybe if the Obama record is bad enough--and these days it's not very good, given the shape of the economy--maybe there will be enough ferment in the Democratic Party so that there will be a primary on their side."

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......makes me wonder if old Dick is trying to stir up a little discontent in the dem tent. A little divide and conquer, so to speak. If that's what it is, I LIKE it!! ;D
-
Well, I like it too...
But.... If BHO is so bad that the Dems would put up Hillary rather than the incumbent, it might be that BHO could be beaten by a Republican on election day, and Hillary might have a better chance of beating the Republican.
On the other hand, I'd rather have Hillary in office than BHO.....and I'd never have believed the thought that Hillary was the lesser of two evils had a chance of entering my mind 5 years ago.

The left HATES!!!!!!!! Cheney so if he is trying ti stir up discontent it will backfire in his face. If Cheney even mentions a dem as a 'contender' or even 'in the running' it is the kiss of death.
-
As often as the left called(s) Cheney "Darth Vader", they truly do not know the power of the Dark Side.

Still works to our advantage since a sick cat could beat BHO.
Kind of like bridge, anything trumps the spade. ;D

I have BAD feeling that we will blow it (think 2008 and McCain) and BHO will win an easy re-election.

I think we need deepwater and myself to get with you and Haz Jr. on the next hoghunt, and get you a fat healthy dose of optimism...all is not lost,....yet... ;)
oh,....and a pork shoulder. slow cooked, all day. 8)

It's been mentioned before by our resident High Poster but it bears repeating..
It's all about the primary folks. Get your butts to the polls during the primary or we deserve what we get for a candidate!

I got a fortune cookie that said that. "All is not yet lost" I didn't know if it was good news or bad news.

All I know is I have ammo and canned goods.....

Bottom line is that while everyone from our side (any side that is not BHO) is beating each other up and spending their war chests to get the nomination, Pres. BHO is beating his free money drum and blaming us (everyone not on his side) for the broken sticks.
The dumbed down America is in danger of watching what it watches every night on the boob tube - Rerun of 2008 in 2012 >:(

Yep, preppin' is a GOOD thing right now! Good thing I got mountains around me for miles and miles to go into hiding.
Ever think about becomin' a Hermit? :'(

+1. Don't underestimate the opponent, and never underestimate the incompetence of the Republican party.
-
actually if she was to run in the primary I'd vote for her... CA is going to vote DEM anyways, Chances are she would be a better POTUS then obama... besides in 2016 you can vote for me.
The sad part is, given the GOP choices, I think we will have another 4 years of Obama. None of the gop canidates have the pull to swing the moderate vote. Granted the loathing of obama by the moderates might help them out. Only time will tell, but I have been right in every POTUS election execpt for the gore/bush bull shit.

I can't disagree with you. That being said, we're still 14 months out from the general election. A LOT can happen in that time. Hell, there may even be a republican declare that we can get excited about. Reagan didn't declare until December of 79, after all.

The question is how bad we want a moderate. Today moderate means compromise, and compromise means no moral compass. If moderate were just the old middle of the road, I would be willing to look at their stance on different issues. However, with today's definition meaning compromise I will not vote for someone that stands on those shifting sands.

All due respect to your position Michael but, where do you draw the line?
I will vote, this time, for anyone who opposes the President, period!
-
EVERYTIME a Republican "compromised", or was considered a "moderate", it has been at the Republican's peril.
Limbaugh is/has been right all along.
The left must be defeated, the left must be relegated to insignificance. There is no "moderation" with Pelosi, or Maxine Waters, or the idiot from Indiana that thinks Tea-Party folks want to see people like him "hanging from a tree". Etc,....
That's why the MSM wanted McCain, and touts Huntsman today. They are RINO's that can be defeated by BHO.
The left didn't extend crap to the right for the first two years of BHO,.. it was ram & cram with a super majority...
The right has it's own power hungry inside the beltway idiots, along with RINO's that must be weeded out as well.
Romney/Huntsman fit this category, and remember, Bloomberg calls himself a Republican...
That's why Perry and Bachmann scare them, and Palin terrified them in 08. The Alinsky playbook is at full throttle.
The MSM, aka The Left, could not believe the applause that erupted during the debate regarding Tx, and capital punishment.
We need to keep scaring the left.
However, like Timothy posted, BHO simply must go in 2012. PERIOD. I'll vote for BoBo the Clown if he stands a chance.

Everybody has to have their own set of values that they expect and even demand. There are certain drop dead no go items, and there are some items that are not as important.
Yes, the current president needs to be dumped. And by doing so we are not only dumping the man in the chair, but we are dumping the puppeteers really running the show.
As we get to the point we actually have a ballot I will look at who is on the ballot, look at where they stand on issues, look at how they have treated those stances in the past, vote for the one that I am most comfortable with, and pray that they don't flip flop on us.
I still say that as many reasons as people used to elect Pres. BHO, it was Palin's strong stance on many conservative issues that cost the GOP. However, it was that strong stance and outspoken personality that has continued to keep many that would normally remain silent screaming to this day. It is that same strength and technique that many used in 2010 to take control of many seats. We are better off with a strong personality with strong beliefs to continue to, as the title here says, stir the pot. Win or lose they will keep the country fired up.
