Since the anointed One praised the Arab Spring, and its wonderful and promising future of Democracy, the MSM has been mum yet again when it doesn't turn out in a way favorable to BHO.
The Muslim Brotherhood and corrupt military officials, run Egypt. Sharia Law will become the "standard" of the "new" Egypt, and here's a perspective. Last time I checked, storming another countries embassy was considered an act of war.

Egypt activists vow to take over US embassy in Cairo if we veto Palestinian statehood
Rick Moran
This is a credible threat considering how they trashed the Israeli embassy earlier this month while the Egyptian army stood by and watched.
And in case you haven't noticed, the Egyptian street - actually the Muslim Brotherhood and their salafist allies - pretty much run Egypt at this point.
The report is from the Fars News Agency:
According to a report by Palestine al-Yawm (Palestine Today) news network, the young Egyptians have posted a request on their Facebook webpage and blasted Barack Obama's speech after his presidency in Cairo in which the US President pledged a new approach towards Muslims.
They said that the threat by the Obama administration to veto the Palestinian bid for UN membership revealed the realities about Obama and the fact they "he is a liar and is no different with his predecessors in supporting Israel and blatant violation of the Arab nations' rights".
The Egyptian youths said the attack on the US embassy would serve as a strong message in response to the US hegemonic policies.
They further warned the US to refrain from vetoing the Palestinian bid, saying that such a move by the US would encourage violence in the world.
Fortunately, it may be while before the resolve of the protestors is tested. It is likely that a Security Council resolution will be delayed while Israel and the Palestinians are forced back to the negotiating table. How long that will last is unknown, but it will certainly be a matter of months before the SC takes up the issue again.
*****
Good luck on the delay by the SC. Should be an interesting Arab Winter, at this rate, the Pakistani's and/or Iranians, should be nuking someone by next year...
One of the comments was very enlightening, and with that type of foreign policy, it seems Russia spoke the international language that Muslims understand:
"Don't **** With Us". Pres. Carter, BHO, must have missed that lesson.
In late 1979 the Iranian Revolution was in full swing. On November 4, 1979 a mob stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran. They took 66 hostages. On January 1, 1980 the same mob stormed the Russian embassy in Tehran. But it turned out differently.
It was rumoured that Russian Foreign Minister, Andrei Gromyko, called the Iranian Ambassador in and said to him “We are not Americans. Either the attack on our embassy ends today or Russian tanks will be in Tehran tomorrow and your revolution will be over.” The attack on the Russian embassy ended forthwith. No explanation was ever given as to why the attack ended. One has to wonder how Obama will respond if the Egyptians decide to storm the U.S. embassy.

"
Only if they've been under a rock for the past several years.
Obama and the Democratic party are more of a threat to the US than Al Queda.

I know how I would respond... give them 1 hour to GTFO. at 61 mins after the warning is given, its a crater in the ground.

Coming from the same guy that will defend our government disarming us ???

show me a post where I said I want the gov to disarm people.

Your constant support for the government's right to restrict ownership and usage, and your belief that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution does not apply as written covers it all.
-
Show me where.
I support property owners rights.

Remember when people were saying "Oh good, those evil dictators Mubarak and Gadaffi need to go" .
Remember how I said those people were idiots ?
Told you so.

You're forgetting the Canal.

You're forgetting the Canal.
+1000
That is, and has been, a MAJOR travel route for International Trade and the World Economy. Sorry TAB, Egypt is not a player in the oil market, Libya is only +/- 5%.
But the canal is huge. If the "shortcut" is cut off, or made too dangerous for shipping....than it's simply geography,...aka, Take the long way:....
More distance= more fuel= More $$$$, euro, yen,..whatever,....and everything goes up.....EVERYTHING...ripple effect.....

I remember, and I never thought anything good would come of it. Hey, but I hear Yemen killed some more civilian protestors this weekend, and Saudi Arabia will let women vote in 2015....
Oh, happy days.....

Actually, Egypts largest "energy" export is the half million tons of Coal they ship annually.

Good for the Yemeni's !
What do you want to bet Saudi Arabia starts going down the crapper around 2016.
The only thing the Jihadis got right and now they're going to screw that up to.

TAB, you need to slow down before you strip a(nother) gear!
On one thread you are saying that the Second Amendment has no strength because it hasn't been upheld in court, and here you say you aren't supporting the removal of gun rights.

In TAB's defense, holding both those beliefs is not contradictory.
Even though we all, TAB included, firmly believe in the the right to bear arms as protected in the constitution, there are many who do not hold that belief. They interpreter the 2A differently either by conviction or the need to negate it.
The practical matter is that a good many of those are in positions of power and are able to make laws restricting the 2A rights.
As we have seen, those laws are enforced until, and sometimes after, the court has ruled in favor of the 2A.
I think that while TAB holds with our views on the 2A, he is just stating the legal and practical reality where gun ownership is concerned.
We all tend to obey the laws rather than fight them, or obey them while we fight them at least, but we get the impression from TAB, which may or may not be correct, that he obeys them with less resentment of them than we do.
-
I see no point in arguing with TAB on this subject.
We all hold opinions based on our understanding of the Constitution, but heavily influenced by our ages , experience, and environment.
The fact that TAB seems to miss the point of the whole "Personal liberty" thing, and assume that lawyers are the final arbiters of what is right, and what is wrong, leads him to hold opinions many of us think are contradictory and/ or foolish.
It is what it is, to steal a cliche', we are no more likely to change his thinking than he is to change ours.
He offers good information on enough technical subjects to make it worth simply ignoring his posts on political ones.
