It's like the 60's all over again,

Some just want to be there.
Some just want to get stoned, laid, and be there.
Some are trying to figure out how they got there.
Some are trying to figure out why they are there.
Some want a shower and to get out of there.
Some are being paid to be there.
Some are truly dangerous anarchists, communist, radicals.

Pray for an early winter,....Perhaps some freezing rain by Halloween?

These guys are the most entertaining.

True and true but remember the 1st Russian revolution had the support of the Government of Russia.  The 2nd, or Bolshevik led by Stalin, was the true takeover and led to 70 years of Communism, murder, oppression and a failed society!

Today, the Democratic Party endorsed the "Occupation" of Wall Street!

Seems like 1917 all over again...

Stalin made sure the "masses" were disarmed....This time around, if it truly escalates, will turn out a wee bit different. Granted, not in unarmed population centers of lib dominated states....

The chaos is by design, because than the "normal" folks will cry out to the Feds, to make it stop,.....Which, under BHO, and good ol' Holder, will be glad to do....

Bev Perdue D-NC Gov. already wants a suspension of elections "to get things done",....the consequences this time will lead to a second Civil War.

Some of these protesters might be all "angry & pissed",....but they haven't seen the majority of folks with "arms" yet either.

The Three Percent are the folks the Founders counted on to save the Republic when everyone else abandoned it.
And we will.
There will be no more free Wacos and no more free Katrinas.
For we are the Three Percent.
We will not disarm.
You cannot convince us.
You cannot intimidate us.
You can try to kill us, if you think you can.
But remember, we’ll shoot back .
We are not going away.
We are not backing up another inch.
And there are THREE MILLION OF US.
Your move, Mr. Wannabe Tyrant.
Your move.

And, as things begin to spin out of control, remember this:
"All politics in this country now is just dress rehearsal for civil war." -- Billy Beck, August 2009.

The real blame lies with our parents and grandparents, they allowed the stage to be set for this when they didn't kill the anti war protestors. Now you people are left to uninformed to see it clearly, then and now, they aren't Hippies. Hippies have more in common with us than you would believe.
Then and now the enemy are as Tim points out, Communist subversives.
I keep trying to tell you you are seeing the end of the Cold War, and you lost.
I've been following this stuff for 35 years and it started with the socialist labor unions the same way it did in Russia, and Europe, followed by infiltration of the education system.

Once upon a time, I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President. I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics. There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind. I live in a free country. There's nothing that the government can do to me if I've broken no laws. My wealth was earned honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.
I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room.  We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen. The Great Seal was embossed on the china. Uniformed staff served our dinner.  The meal was served, and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate, and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen.   "Sorry about that," said the President. "Andrew is very hungry."
"I don't appreciate..." I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty.. It was just a dinner roll.  "Of course," I concluded, and reached for my glass. Before I could, however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.
"And his brother Eric is very thirsty." said the President.
I didn't say anything. The President is testing my compassion, I thought. I will play along. I don't want to seem unkind.  My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite.
"Eric's children are also quite hungry."
With a lurch, I crashed to the floor. My chair had been pulled out from under me. I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room.

"And their grandmother can't stand for long."

I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool.  Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game. I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken. I turned back to the President. "Their grandfather doesn't like the cold."

I wanted to shout - that was my coat! But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport. I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled. Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone. I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table. I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife had been thrown out of our home. Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in. The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.

"Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions. They haven't planned for retirement, and they need a house. They recently defaulted on a subprime mortgage. I told them they could have your home. They need it more than you do."

My hands were shaking. I felt faint. I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor. The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak and drank his wine. I lowered my eyes and stared at the small grey circles on the tablecloth that were water drops. "By the way," He added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories. I'm firing you as head of your business. I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind.  There's a whole bunch of Erics and Andrews out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars."
I looked up. The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his creme brulee. He drained the last drops of his wine.

As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. He stared at me. I clung to the edge of the table as if were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss.. I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived. The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle. Why was I punished? How had I allowed it to be taken? What game had I played and lost? I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us.  What had I done wrong?
As if answering the unspoken thought, the President suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine, and bared a million teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands.
"You should have stopped me at the dinner roll," he said.

Should have stopped them a long time ago, now the only way to stop them will kill 1/2 the population.

Could be a showdown in Atlanta this morning.  And while I don't sympathize with the protesters, I do hope the APD handlle civilly.

Geeze..what a powerful analogy....so much more devastating and personal than boiling frogs.

Read a book series that eventually that gives the same situation and examples.   Don't know if the author intended to do so all along since it was well into the series before it became obviously the intent of the series.

It was written by Terry Goodkind, The Sword of Truth series which starts with  The Wizards First Rule.  Author's web site here

Now that you point them out, I did notice that Rule 1 was often mentioned through out the series.  And in situations in which I didn't immediately see it's application.

Towards the end of the series, the setting is a society where the hardest workers are penalized the greatest to support those who do not work at all.  Where businesses are destroyed by forced 'PC" compliance.

The real question is whether the OWS movement was grass roots and organic at the outset, or if it was orchestrated by the establishment.  Further, if it was legit to begin with, how successful has the establishment been at infiltrating and co-opting it, as was done with the Tea Party Movement.  From what I have seen I think there are some very intelligent and well meaning people involved with the protests, but there are also some real clueless idiots.  One example of this was a video of one of the protesters saying that the banks should be printing mountains of money and distributing it to the people.  That guy would do well to read The Creature From Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin, and also Human Action by Ludwig Von Mises.  I don't think any of the protesters should be shot because they have beliefs different than mine.

You assume two things.  One is that that guy can read and two, if he can read the facts will mean anything to him.

You are correct about shooting them.  Ammo is to dear.  We can simply stop supporting them and nature take care of it's own.

You are both wrong about not shooting them "because they have beliefs different than mine.".
They are communist subversives who have the stated goal of destroying the principles of free enterprise capitalism, and personal liberty that were the founding ideals of this country. The killing should have begun 45 years ago when the Soviet KGB was financing the anti war movement . Just because they are not driving tanks does not mean they are not "levying war" against the Republic.
As to whether it is a "grass roots" movement, I'll give you a hint, one of the organizers was the head of SEIU.
This is no more "Grass roots", or "spontaneous" than any other communist demonstration.
It, like the rest of the Dem socialist agenda is aimed at creating fear, mistrust, and chaos.

We discussed them moving off to people's properties earlier today.  We figure they will head to someone's house and start on the property.  Since they are a mob with weapons and intent, the property owner would be justified in at a minimum drawing a weapon.  The hard cores might hestitate and continue, but the "hangers-on" will rethink thier position.

There is no question. The Occupy <fill in the blank> movement was conceived, organized, funded, planned, and initiated by Lerner from the SEIU and one of the founders of the original ACORN - both smug hard-core leftists scumbuckets. If this is an organic movement, I'll eat this computer. However, it is a movement that is making good use of a a lot of useful idiot to look "organic".

Progressives, communists, socialists, foreign operatives, unions, wealthy tyrants (Soros comes to mind) and young idiots are behind this.  The guys on the streets don't have a clue...they can't see they are tools.  The lazy guys get a hot meal and then spout some outrageous BS to impress the pretty girls in hopes of getting laid.  Always we must look beyond the young idiots.

I don't think there is a single testicle behind all of those guys sleeping on the streets and occupying whatever.  The 60's anti-war movement was one big glorious party.  Instead of really "spanking" unruly children they were handled with kid gloves.

Then all of a sudden it wasn't fun anymore.  Ralphi found out you had to be careful or "You'll shoot your eye out."  It was May 1970 and Kent State.  After Kent State the anti-war movement was not so much fun anymore....it got real and the young idiots drifted away from the progressives, communists, socialists and foreign operatives because...hey, you could get your ass killed doing this.  When it got real most of them slinked off.

Well, we have the same thing today with the "occupiers".  A few puppet masters and a lot of willing young idiots.  If it get's real they won't hang....like I said...if you've got 100 guys on the street I doubt there is 1/2 of a pair of balls really willing to stand up to "what they think they believe" when the "fun factor" goes away.

I'm all for 18 year olds being able to vote...if they are in the military.  Beyond military service inclusion, 21 should be minimum voting age.  Why the conservatives kneeled to a blanket 18 year old vote I'll never know....just stupid back then I guess.

They did it because the Draft was still in effect and that was a blanket "18".
The primary argument was "if your old enough to get killed in Vn. you should be old enough to vote and buy beer".
No one considered that just because you are mature enough to follow orders in a deadly situation, does not mean you are mature enough to make important decisions on your own.

http://news.yahoo.com/thousands-rally-dc-easier-access-jobs-180417484.html

WASHINGTON (AP) — Thousands of Americans led by the Rev. Al Sharpton rallied Saturday against the backdrop of the Washington Monument, calling for easier job access and decrying the gulf between rich and poor before marching to the new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

The rally was intended to drum up support for President Barack Obama's jobs plan, which died Tuesday in the U.S. Senate. But speakers used the platform for varied causes, including condemning state laws requiring voter identification at the polls and protesting the recent execution of Troy Davis, a Georgia man convicted of killing an off-duty police officer. Davis maintained his innocence until his death and attracted thousands of supporters worldwide even though courts repeatedly ruled there wasn't enough evidence to exonerate him.

Chanting for jobs and justice, many demonstrators carried banners for their labor unions and wore pins or T-shirts bearing King's likeness. Obama is scheduled to speak Sunday at the dedication ceremony for the memorial, the first monument dedicated to a black leader on the National Mall.

Sharpton, the featured speaker at the March on Washington for Jobs and Justice, blasted the Senate for its failure to pass Obama's $450 billion jobs bill. The measure includes an extension of a payroll tax cut and unemployment benefits, as well as money to help local governments keep teachers and other workers on the job. Obama and Senate Democratic leaders plan to try to pass elements of the measure by breaking it into pieces.

"If you can't get the jobs bill done in the suites, then we will get the jobs bill done in the streets," Sharpton said to cheers and applause.

He told the crowd that King would have supported their cause "because he stood for those who were cast down and cast back." King's eldest son, Martin Luther King III, was also among the speakers.

"Over 45 years ago, my father talked about a redistribution of wealth. In fact, that is probably why he was killed," King said. "Because he said if America is going to survive responsibly, then it must have a redistribution of wealth."

Kathie Williams, a part-time administrator for the Howard County, Md., parks and recreation department. She'd like to find full-time work but has struggled to do so despite an active search.

"No one has responded to me," Williams said.

Belinda Shade, 56, of Waldorf, Md., works as a special education school administrator but said the economy still makes her insecure.

"Right now I have a job, but I don't know what might happen tomorrow," Shade said, later adding, "There are no jobs. People are really hurting. Everything is coming apart as a result."

District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray held a separate protest supporting greater autonomy for the district government — Congress must approve the local government's budget — and joined in the larger gathering. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis and Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers were among the other speakers.

Nonetheless, Sharpton said the rally was not intended as an overtly political statement or as part of the president's re-election bid.

"This is not about Obama," he said. "This is about my mama."

The answer is simple enough, send Rev. Al and the rest of these assholes to Mexico and China, just like they sent the jobs there.
