Title: Hogue grip for LCP
Post by: kmitch200 on October 20, 2011, 12:11:26 PM
Trying anything to get the LCP more shooter friendly for the wife. (she has some R. Arthritis issues)

The LCP grip from Hogue has you remove the old frame insert pin and hammer spring seat.
Insert the supplied hammer spring seat, hook the new grip in front, rotate it around and replace the frame pin with the supplied new one. Easy peasy.
The new grip adds a little grip length through some added cushion to the backstrap to better control the trigger and recoil, while increasing the thickness VERY, VERY little.
Wife says that it feels MUCH better and makes the insanely heavy trigger easier to manipulate. For my size hands the gun feels much better!

Pic shows old spring seat and old pin. Carried it last night while running the dogs and the rubber on the grip didn't grab the pocket and the draw from the Nemesis felt the same.

It was definitely worth the $10 bucks spent!
I'm not sure who likes it more, the wife or me.

Looks like the grip would interfere with the operation of a Crimson Trace laser for the LCP.

I wonder if they could be "cut out" or modified for that option?

Looked on the web site to see if maybe a model compatible with the laser was available, but found none.

The sight is outdated,  however, as it states this grip is unavailable and should be ready to ship mid-summer....

The front is rubber and could be trimmed.
How much does the CT actuator button need in height? The front of the Hogue grip is 1" tall.

be very carefull with making guns the wife likes... they tend to become hers,  not yours or "ours" but hers.

I'm already down that road. I wanted to sell a small 9mm SIG and got, "WHAT?!? You're not selling that gun!"

The LCP resides in her purse...she wanted it for her birthday.  :)
