Title: Dan Wesson
Post by: tombogan03884 on March 27, 2008, 02:34:15 AM
That freind of mine with the S&W .38 has a chance to buy a Dan Wesson .357 with 4 inch barrel, this is the model that had the interchangable barrels, but only comes with the 4 inch. I've looked at it, It seems to be in excellent shape, about 30 years old but not fired much and well maintained. Asking price is $250, I'm telling him to grab it and run. Is that a good price, and where , how much for the other barrel lengths? Just heard about it tonight so I have not checked the Wesson website yet, figured if I asked here I would not have to ;D

Hey Tom , I've had some experience with these and found that they are a little harder to do trigger jogs on but for the most part they are good guns make sure he gets the wrench and gauge for the barrel and I have seen them on Guns America.com and in the Numrich gun parts catalog and he can call them at (914) 679-4867 if Dan Wesson does not have them .

I have one myself! It used to be considered "the most accurrate handgun made". I have the barrell kits in 2.5", 4", 6", and 12".

It IS a heck of alot more accurrate than I will ever be! Great price on a beautiful wheel gun!

Barrell kits are available at gunbroker.com for about 100bucks each and so are the tools.

I absolutely love my Dan Wesson .357.  Bought it with a 6" barrel and bought the 4" from the factory.  You can find barrels on Ebay, but they usually go for more than new.  Go figure.

I own a 44 mag 8" VH. I've had since 1981. I'm holding as I type these words. I would think that other barrels are available since they are back in business. It was worth every penny I payed and then some. Damm accurate too boot. He would be a fool not to buy it. Because If I find out where it is I'll snatch it up.  ;D ;D

I have a 6" 357.  the double action on it is horride, but the single action is as good as anyone elses.  Infact its so light it would be  unsafe for a inexperanced shooter.  ( from my exp with then that is the norm.)
