Title: Friends in need!
Post by: Timothy on November 02, 2011, 06:08:53 PM
Most know we got whacked up here in the Northeast last weekend.  One town in MA got nearly three feet of snow and there were 600,000 people without power.  That number has been reduced to about 200,000 in MA alone but there is a lot of work to go.

I was coming home from running some errands and passed a convoy of about 60-70 utility trucks from Muskegon, MI and Port Huron, MI bombing their way northward to aid in the efforts.  They've been here all week it appears.  I stopped in town and spoke with a few and thanked them for their help.

It's nice to see some help from so far away and I'm sure those guy appreciate the overtime.

 ;)

Hmm. Overtime or sit around enjoying the near 70* weather? Sorry. I just had to rub it in.  ;D

I've got a brother in Paramus, NJ working with AL Power.  They got up there last night.  He's a mechanic; so, he's sitting around enjoying the beautiful weather while making overtime.

Hope yall get back to normal soon.  Although, is normal a good thing in Mass?  :-\ ;)

Hell, it's been in the 50's and sunny here in ND, and we have yet to see our first flake in the eastern part of the state. Of course, that may change. Soon. But for now, . . . . .   ::)

If you take Boston out of the equation, MA is sort of like a dysfunctional family waiting for that crazy uncle at Thanksgiving...

There are 800,000 gun owners in Massachusetts.  My family is well represented...

What made it so bad up here was that most of the leaves were still on the trees, we did not get frost to really kill them off until the night before the storm.
So instead of just a little of the wet heavy snow clinging to the twigs and branches, large amounts piled up on the  still leafy branches until they snapped, that's what brought down so many lines.
If it had not been so warm before hand it would have been no more than "just another storm".
