MICROPHONES accidently left on after G20 meeting pick up a revealing private conversation between US and French presidents about the Israeli prime minister.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly told US President Barack Obama that he could not "stand" Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that he thinks the Israeli premier "is a liar."
According to a report on the French website Arret sur Images, after facing reporters for a G20 press conference last Thursday, the two presidents retired to a private room, to further discuss the matters of the day.
The conversation apparently began with Obama criticising Nicolas Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO despite Washington's strong objection to the move.
The conversation then drifted to Netanyahu, at which time Sarkozy declared: "I cannot stand him. He is a liar." According to the report, Obama replied: "You're fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!"
The remark was naturally meant to be said in confidence, but the two leaders' microphones were accidently left on, making the would-be private comment embarrassingly public.
The communication faux pas went unnoticed for several minutes, during which the conversation between the two heads of state - which quickly reverted to other matters – was all but open to members the press, who were still in possession of headsets provided by the Elysée for the sake of simultaneous translation during the G20 press conference.
"By the time the (media) services at the Elysée realise it, it was on for at least three minutes," one journalist told the website. Still, he said that reporters "did not have a chance to take advantage of this fluke."
The surprising lack of coverage may be explained by a report alleging that reporters present at the event were requested to sign an agreement to keep mum on the subject of the embarrassing comments.
A member of the media confirmed yesterday that "there were discussions between journalists and they agreed not to publish the comments due to the sensitivity of the issue."
He added that while it was annoying to have to refrain from publishing the information, the journalists are subject to precise rules of conduct.
lol busted !!!

So what? Its the truth. Netanyahu is an asshole and the world would be better off without him in charge of anything. That guy could start a war inside a phone booth. The question is whether this was an "oopsie" by BO and Sarkozy, or whether they knew damn well the mike was on and thought they'd give the guy a wakeup call. Remember, just because he's our bastard doesn't mean he's not a bastard. :-\

OTOH, Netanyahu is an accomplished military leader and is in charge of a country that something on the order of a billion mooslims have vowed to push into the sea. So he gets to be an asshole, especially to the French who have sold the Israelis out time and again. Remember the gunboats that France took money for and then got all High and Mighty and decided not to deliver to the Israelis? That's just one.
Damn, do you have to make it so easy, FQ? You're like shooting fish in a barrel.
As for the OP, you also missed the little tidbit where the reporters failed in their duties to report - ya know, actually do their job? - and the conspired amongst themselves - with prodding from the pols - to quash the story. No surprise, the pols want to manage the news.
I expect bho to be an ignorant, domineering asshat (except around Michelle). I expect more from almost everyone else - lots more.

So much for the "free" press.

In the 200+ years of our existence we have been involved in several wars with France as our ally, in all but one we wound up screwed by them in one way or another.
It is a historical fact that any time the French join an alliance they do more harm to their allies than their enemies, examples abound but WWI, WWII, and Vietnam are good examples.
If the French think Bennie Netanyahu is a liar I will bank on what he says.
The fact that Obama agrees with Sarkozy would make a normal person lean the other way.
Some people are just slow learners I guess.

Hey Quake! ??? I won't disagree BB is a lightening rod and could start a fight in phone booth (especially if there were a couple Palestinian terrorists in there making a call to a cell phone ied bomb trigger), but how about a little evidence he of the character flaws. Thanks, Shalom! Go armed in peace!
P.S. His older brother Lieutenant Colonel Yonatoni Netanyahu was the only Israeli military casualty in the Raid on Entebbe, Uganda. He studied at Harvard U after the Six Day War and later gave up a command position to lead commandos on dangerous missions. Maybe BB carries a chip on his shoulder when comes to punk terrorists and their fellow travelers.

Perhaps Netanyahu missed the lecture on Neville Chamberlain method of appeasement. How did that work out...He came off the plane waving an "ironclad" Treaty between Germany and England....
I hope he wiped his a** with it during the Blitz.
I posted many times Israel is a pit bull in the Middle East, due to the previously posted FACT that they are surrounded by hundreds of millions of Muslims that want them pushed back into the sea.
Being an a**hole and having an attitude that the button is and will be pushed to turn you Muslim MF'ers into polished glass is all the Muslims understand.
We have wasted more Presidential BS, money and time trying the Chamberlain approach to Mid-East Peace....How did that work out? How many rockets a day are shot into Israel?
Just a matter of time. As for BHO,....well seeing how his name changed from Barry Sotero, to Barack Hussein Obama, I'm not surprised...
