Title: Election day
Post by: tombogan03884 on November 08, 2011, 07:47:43 PM
We had our local elections today in NH, only position here was my City Councilor. Turn out was ridiculously low.
Most people don't give a crap about local politics, they just bitch about their taxes.
Who else had elections ?
Did you vote or are you one of the lazy ones who deserve to get screwed ?

Election day here as well.  No results yet.  I'm registered back home; so, no voting for me.  I bet we make national news tonight though, one way or another.

There was something in my new town but I've just registered locally so I opted to not vote this time.  I rarely miss an election cycle regardless of how small.  School Boards and such I never bother with as I have no dog in the hunt anymore.

According to my brother in law, there were nothing on the ballot but incumbents anyway.  No opposition to vote for so you either don't vote or vote for the folks on the ballot.  Probably all DNC anyway.

All the incumbents won here which is good.
17% turn out is pathetic, but you can bet you homes that I will remember that number when I hear people bitching about the city Govt.

The controversal "Initiative 26" personhood ammendment was defeated here.  We got a new governor, etc. but that defeat is probably the highlight.
