Title: Saturday Is National Buy Ammo Day....Don't Forget.
Post by: twyacht on November 16, 2011, 05:13:23 PM
Get a box of "something" even if it's .22's....Caliber and quantity don't matter.

You Do Know What Saturday Is, Dontchya?
Posted on November 16, 2011 by Dan Zimmerman

No? Well yes, it’s November 19th. But it’s also National Ammo Day. What – you don’t have that marked on your calendar? Yeesh. Don’t worry, you don’t have make a big political statement or anything. All you have to do is get out to your friendly local retailer and pick up at least 100 rounds of food for your bangstick. As if you really needed an excuse to buy more ammo, right?

Now I know you know the answer to the age-old question: How much ammo is enough? Answer: MORE. It doesn’t matter how much ammunition you have, you always need more. So lift those sofa cushions, brush aside the Dorito and potato chip crumbs and mine that upholstery for all the spare shekels you can muster.

Brand, caliber, grains, FMJ, JHP…none of that really matters. Just get yourself some. And since it’ll be a Saturday, why not head right out and send a good portion of those minty fresh projectiles downrange?

You know, this sounds just like those Marketing Holidays like Valentine's Day and Sweetest Day that promote buying Cards and boxes of Candy or whatever....

Somehow, I like this one...a lot.

Can I take a carry class instead?

My Minnesota permit is expiring in January, and I am registered to take a class Saturday.

Sorry, can't do Sat. opening morning of gun deer season and my favorite gun is closed on Sat. However on the bright side I bought a box of .38spl reloads for the wife's .357 today.

So THAT's why Remington sent me the free greeting cards. I was wondering. ;D

PS It might also explain the complimentary Moision I got from Classic Arms, along with a $10 off coupon for ammo by the case. ;)

I Payed it Forward today with 300 rounds of CCI Mini Mags to break in the Walther P22 I picked up a couple weeks ago.  I'll be too busy Saturday with silly work stuff.

Did my part.  Picked up 600 rounds for the handguns.  Now I see how woefully lacking my rifle cache is.  It just never ends.

Ok.....tried to make up for missing out so stopped at gun shop today to either buy a gun or something related.  They were closed I guess for Hunting related reasons.

SO...Cheaper Than Dirt dot com...... I have 4 boxes of Hollow Point +P 9mm on order.

Yay. for  National Buy Ammo Day

Well I have to say I didn't purchase any ammunition today.  However, the wife and I spent the day in a classroom and then to the range.  It was carry class day for us!  My permit is expiring in January, and this was her first time through.  So even though I didn't spend any money on ammunition, I think we did more to send a message that Americans care about their Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Are they charging you for that? Because frankly I have no desire for the .45/.410 barrel that came with my gun. I'm more than happy with the .357 I bought for it though. If they'll do an even money trade I would be interested in either the .45 or a .22lr for practice. Heck, I might trade it for one of their driving holsters.

PS I've got a box of Federal handgun  #4s in .410 I'll trade for 9mm, .556, .270 or .38/.357.

FQ,Call Bond and ask for Charlie, Tell him you have a barrel that you don't want and wouldlike to know if you can trade it for a different caliber. As long as it looks like new they will probably trade you, You'll just have to pay shipping.Try it, What do you have to lose?
Or if your .45/.410 barrel will take 3 inch shells and is in good condition I'll trade you even, You pay your shipping and I'll  pay mine,Let me know.

No, its the 3" Tx. defender. 2 3/4" only. Thing is its not long enough to really stabilize .45s with the wink and a nod rifling they put in these to keep ATF happy. Its a short barreled shot gun or a bad breath distance pistol in .45. They'l freely admit that. The dedicated .45 barrels are supposed to be pretty accurate. I'll call and see what they have in their seconds bin. I could easily be persuaded to go 9mm just to use the same ammo as the Glock if the deal is right. Anyway, thanks for letting me know they offered this service. Its another reason to love Bond.

Didn't buy any ammo yesterday but loaded 400 rds of 5.56.  Working on a case of once fired brass from Wiedners.  3000 of them. My arms and shoulders are killing me.
