Title: I Was Sniped On A Remington 81B Woodsmaster Purchase, By A Co-Worker....

So last night is our monthly Dixie Guns & Ammo Meetup. Local gun shop, small, with two very smart and great owners. As I was enjoying the complimentary BBQ, my co-worker spotted on the back wall, a Remington Model 81B Woodsmaster in .300 Savage.

(I was told this model rifle was used by LEO's and G-Men back in the day, and hunters), and was similar to the rifle used to help dispatch Bonnie & Clyde). It was in amazing shape. Simply beautiful. Bought from an estate sale. I believe it is  pre-WWII. Almost identical to the JMB Model 8, but C.C. Loomis contributed to the Woodsmaster design.

The price was very reasonable, considering the wonderful condition, IMHO, was 90 + percent. and I feel used and cheated... :'(

Alright, actually I don't feel used and cheated, as I'll get to shoot up his ammo next range trip.... ;)

Question: I heard a rumor that there were higher capacity magazines for them. Like 20rounders...True?

 What great balance, length was perfect, and the safety is almost identical to an AK, (probably where Kalishnakov got it)...

Geez, some of those old rifles are really sweet. Perhaps I'll skip the BBQ next time... :P

Look at your American Rifleman.It was either last months or the one before. They did a bio on the Tx. Ranger that killed Bonnie and Clyde. He did in fact use that very rifle. Of course this is an American Rifleman piece and so they were given the chance to surrender. And Greedo shot first. ::) ;)
FQ13 who would like to own one as well. Kind of like a 7400, but more reliable by all acounts.
PS what did it set him back?

This is supposedly a military model with 20 round mag.

Thanks jumbo, I was unsure of the 20 rd. option. The hard part will be trying to find him a couple....
