Met this guy at a gun show in NH .... it's a startup business .... anybody seen anything like this before? Pretty simple idea but a bit more involved than a paper target.

Never saw any thing like that.
Funny thing is that is the Rifle range I shoot at.
2 of my friends are members.
Also the pictures of bikes with the "Weirs Beach" sign is about 5 miles from here. ;D

I've never seen that commercial target. I have seen the ones that hold a clay pigeon like a lollypop on a stick.
Around here many people use old boards or pallets and position screws or nails at 12, 5 and 7 o'clock positions to rest the pigeons on.
Another trick I was taught by a pistol instructor was to glue charcoal briquets to a sheet of cardboard or a cardboard box. It gives the students instant feedback, and it is far cheaper than pigeons. A stop at Menards, Lowes or Home Depot, ten bucks for some PL200 and a back of briquets, some free boxes, and you have an afternoon of exploding targets ;D

Try shooting Necco Wafers candy taped to something or hanging from string with a .22!

I prefer shooting at life savers with the hole in the middle. ;D

I believe James Garner did that in Support Your Local Sheriff, I think it was, except he used a washer tossed into the air.

Years ago, when plinking with .22's, as boredom set in we went gradually down from bowling pins to Solo cups, to clays, to charcoal, to used shotgun shells, to clothespins suspended on a string...eventually we glued aspirin tablets to a sheet of black poster board for targets.
Ahhh, younger eyes.....
