I'm making a version of a "Crossbreed" style Leather/Kydex carry holster line. Need something to call them.
"Crossbreed" is taken, the wife says "Half-Breed" (my idea) is offensive! So, any suggestions?
I'm thinking something to do with a Turtle! Soft underbelly and a hard shell.

Call it Multi-Cultural or The Mutt.

Ha, I thought you might be setting yourself up by asking a question like that with this bunch.
How about "The Terrapin" ?

what about the cyborg holster, it's biological and synthetic.

I'm an old sailor so my suggestion reflects that: Shell-back. It's what you become when you cross the equator on boat or ship...

I built a holster for a buddy of mine that was just like a crossbreed but it was all leather , we called it the purebred . How about calling yours a mix breed , or my 10 year old said call it a catdog lol .

I will if it will help me get mine first ;D

And pollywog for the smaller holsters

I made one out of all leather a while back for one of my customers, I never really named any any of my stuff though and I really felt it was too close to a copy of a Crossbreed to really keep making them although I have remade it on a few occasions. My version was lined so there wasn't a rough side.

I have a question as a layman of the medium..
If those holsters had open muzzle form, would they not fit every Glock frame on the market?
-
rEVOLUTION or how about Darwins Folly? Nice looking Crossovers Lonerider.
-
9mm and 40 cal are same frame size, 45 is larger, or so I'm told. I have a G-30 mold that's a short barrel and will make any of those to fit any length bbl.
-
Not bad Lonerider.

As a crossbreed owner/user, I can answer your question Tim. The answer is yes they would work for all, except maybe the single stack, and you are right about frame sizes Lonerider. My Crossbreed was bought for my G19 but carries my G26 most of the time and works quite well for it. It also carries my G20, but it is admittedly a little tighter fit for it. They all stick out different lengths past the kydex but stay on the leather. You can see the different impressions they make. If I were buying to primarily carry a larger frame Glock .45 ACP or 10 mm, I would want to buy one for that frame size. Mine is mainly for my 9 mm with rare usage by the 10 mm; so, I'm fine with the way it fits.
I'm not quite ready for the leather game, but have been considering tinkering with kydex. Maybe sometime in the future when I have more time. Holster making seems like a good/useful hobby.

Pretty nice looking hybrid holsters, Lonerider!
How about "Softback", as the leather is soft, and it has a hard shell like a turtle?

Just came up with this, a IWB for Ruger LCP/Kel-Tec 32/380. If you take the clip off it's a pocket holster!

Alright, can't take it anymore! No more new designs, period, exclamation point.! Wish list keeps growing and finances keep shrinking!
Good job Lonerider.

How about a LCP/Kel-Tec?

If I had a LC9 Mold I'd make one!!

Here's one for an LC9. Made it for myself since concealed carry just passed here in Wisconsin.
-
WT, looks good. Looking at options for now.

wish I could afford every gun or blue gun made but they are expensive.
So, what I will do for anyone who wants a holster for a gun I don't already have a mold for is if you will add $10 to the price of a holster to partly pay for a blue gun mold I'll knock $10 off the second holster you buy. Is that fair??
-
Sounds fair. Wish I could afford a REAL gun for every holster you make! LOL

Got a new molding gun from Blackhawk. Sig P226, here's the Arm-A-Dillo for a Sig!
A couple of improvements made, lower cut leather backing for easier grip on pistol and a little shorter sweat guard on slide so it won't bend over.

Good job Lonerider!

I too have a rather Big "Spare Tire", I carry on a belt holster, I'd get killed trying to get the 1911 out!!! ???
