Anybody out there own one?
-
I own 2 of them, one in .40sw and an other in 9mm and I really think that these guns are underrated. There both built tough as nail like all Sigs and strip easy for maintenance. The sights are high contrast 3 dot type, and with a standard 1913 rail most lights and lasers I've put on fit tight with no wiggle. My only complaint is the single mag you get but them again they only cost $389.99.

I have a 9mm that I bought about 5 years ago before the prices went down, and I still think it was a good buy. I've got about 7500 rounds through it of every quality and flavor with NEVER a problem, and the night sights are still strong. It's not the prettiest nor the most accurate pistol, but it is a really solid workhorse that field strips very easily. I also happen to like the decocker- it acts almost like a safety in that the double action trigger pull is up around 10.5 lbs I think, so you really have to WANT to fire that first round if you're carrying it that way. When I got mine I got two 15 round mags with it.
Have CCW'd it too and it's not too heavy, but a bit bulky. All in all a sturdy piece, ESPECIALLY for today's pricing.

I picked one up. The single action trigger is pretty nice. I've only had time to run one magazine through it but I like it. I'm so happy to hear that it's reliable with all types of ammo. So far everything I've read people are saying a great gun & the price point is a bonus. Thanks for the input.

We bought 3 to test out at my company when we were decided on a new issue carry pistol. It almost made the final cut, we bought XDm's instead but that only lasted a few months when Glock came back and gave us a great deal to switch back. Anyway I made out really good, I bought the 3 2022's from the company for $750. They had been run pretty hard but still looked and functioned just fine. I gave one to my step-dad and kept the other 2. I think they're a great deal for the money, I've seen them on gunbroker for $350. I wish the mags were a bit cheaper though, I'd like to pick up a few more. I actually took them with me the last time I had to fly. I figured I had redundancy and wouldn't be heart broken if anything happened to one or both while traveling.

If anyone is looking to buy one check out the listings for Sportsmans Supply on gunbroker. They have them listed ending at least one a day and have been going for right at $300-$325 with $15 shipping.

At that price you could get one just to keep handy. It's a nice pistol at that price.

Even the shipping is a bargain ;D

A couple of us went together to get some Mag for the Sig Sp2022 and they work better than the factory mags and hold 2 more rounds, His shipping was 5.95 prority

Good to know, I only use 18 or 20rd Mec-Gar mags in my 226, now I can use them in my 2022 as well.

Had one for years before I sent to my son in scenic NJ. He loved shooting it down here. To me one of the best out of the box triggers not counting 1911s. There appears to be a lack of holsters available BUT most leather and some Kydex holsters designed for the XD will work. For those unaware it started out as a $799 handgun, was lowered to $599 after a big Fench contract, and lowered further when the P250 came out. I don't think Sig ever embraced this gun.
-
I was wondering what had happend regarding pricing. I got mine way-back-when and it was about $680. Sounds like the original pricing. I don't know the first year they came out. I was amazed to see them around $400...it's a heluva gun for that price.
-
Its odd that Sig really never marketed these gun like they would the 226. I own two 2022's and I like there awesome. I know there not the traditional Sig but they're still built like tanks. These guns are so underrated, I know this statement will come with consequences, I do think the Sig 2022 is all around a better gun than glock.
-
Yea, you're asking for trouble with that statement, but I have to say I'm getting close to 8K rounds through mine on the original equipment, it strips down really easily, and it always goes boom. That's a good gun.

All Ive done to both guns is change the poylmer guide rod with a stainless one. My 9mm sig2022 has become my edc piece.

It's a great pistol, I wish I could find some good gun leather for it.
