I don't like free advice. I like information and I'm choosy about who I listen to for information and even then I want factual verification.
Just the facts. I'll make up my own advice. I'm really taken back by people who feel like they were fooled by Obama...and now they want to tell people what to do....like they had any discernment to begin with.
-
I read most of it and formulate an opinion. I also think I'm a pretty good judge of what's fact and fiction and that's why I quit reading newspapers about thirty years ago!

I agree, in fact, most of the news I read or see now I consider rumors until proven otherwise. (though I can't say I stopped reading newspapers 30 years ago, because I ain't that old!) ;D

I will take advice from someone I trust. I just dont trust many people. I never ask for advice. My dad told me if you ask a question and then dont belive the answer, you were stupid to ask in the first place. I didnt understand what he ment at first. When I got older and realized I didnt really want to ask morons questions because they gave dumb answers...I understood.

Depends on the subject, if its something I'm not familiar with I'll ask people who are for information, but I ignore most "advice".
When some one starts a sentence with "If you want my advice", I start working on my grocery list.

I evaluated your suggestions. Everyone is free to change their vote!!!!

It's a shame that everyone out there doesn't evaluate information rather than take advice.
The question then becomes.....who's information do you give the most weight?

Who's can I confirm, at least in part ?
Or do several sources agree ?

Sometimes you can't confirm or verify or double check with another source.
There have been/are an individual or two whom, from past experience and personal knowledge of them, who's word I trust as true.
I guess, for them, I would be weighing their advice at 100%....so perhaps, with them, I am taking advice rather than evaluating it at that moment.....the evaluation has taken place over a number of years and it all has been verified and tested true.

In the old days, journalists actually checked their sources with at least two corroborating people. Remember Watergate? Until "Deep Throat" came into play, the Post wouldn't run the story. Today, I doubt they do more than google something and make their own decision. The news is unreliable in all of it's forms. Guys like Beck will site their sources which is why the left hates him so much. Facts are stubborn things but finding them can be difficult.
I should read more non-fiction like Tom does but it just puts me to sleep.

If you believe my ex, I don't listen to anything anyone has to say. ;D
