I think we would both be on the naughty list if I were to suggest a .280 Remington.  ;D

Are "reigndeer" like Kim Jong-Un?

Personally I want to try the 260 Remington.   6.5mm-08.

From the title of this thread, I am thinking you might be getting into the Christmas Punch a little early? ;D

Santa's little hoofers are not large beasties.  A 30-30 would be sufficient to take out one of the 4-legged venison roasts without much damage to the meat.  :o

Reindeer are not known for their intelligence, either.  You might be able to approach them closely enough to take 'em out with a handgun in something like 9mm or .40 S&W.  ;D

If you can make this happen, contact me.  I have a lot of coal left over from last year.  ;)

They're easily domesticated!  Just whistle, they just might run right at you....get 'em with Haz Jrs' pig sticker!

If Santa is airborne, don't forget to LEAD THEM.....

A good, .308 to start.,......338 WinMag, for altitude....

.338 Lapua Magnum for distance....

Than there is the .50 for general purpose.... 8)

Time for more NOG!!!!!!!

I have to agree with Jumbofrank on the 280 Rem. I shot my cow Elk with mine this year and to many Deer to count the last 15 years. It works every time and doesn't hurt my old body. :)

Yeah, but boy .270 is a lot cheaper and the deer and elk don't care. Hey, if it was good enough for Jack O'Conner its good enough for me. Now, if we are looking at taking down 8/9 flying deer? Well, that screams AR with one of those 60 round mags I dissed on an earlier thread. ;D

They fly really fast.

So out of my selection that would either be the 257 weatherby or the 17 remington.

Then again with the M1 I will have 8 shots.

hmmmm

always wanted a 280, just never had a need for it.

With aerial targets you need volume fire, that is why bird hunters use shotguns, so the answer is something that supplies high volume with no special paperwork.
