Title: Learned something new: Non Alcoholic Steato Hepatitus = NOT GOOD AT ALL!
Post by: Tyler Durden on January 07, 2012, 10:18:06 PM
It is also called NASH.

You can read up on it here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-alcoholic_fatty_liver_disease

It kinda appears that High Fructose Corn Syrup could be one culprit.

I am making it a resolution right now to get in shape in 2012!

And don't keep your tooth brush in the bathroom since the germs from sh!t can travel incredible distances.
You do realize that there is a difference between living and existing ?
You may exist nearly for ever in a sanitary vacuum sealed bubble.
But it isn't much of a life.
You notice no one heard of any of this crap back when kids ate worms and mud pies ?

My hypochondria might be just flaring up.... ;D

Or that could explain some of the symptoms I have been experiencing and/or some of the blood test results I have received.
 :o

either way, I could definitely afford to lose the weight.

could be that back when you were kids there weren't any fat people....they couldn't run fast enough and were subsequently eaten by the sabre tooth lions and/or were trampled to death by the mastadons.
 ;D

but seriously, we, the U.S., has got fat people like nobody's business right now.  we know more about the effects of obesity and diabetes, and the technology has gotten better to actually test for things....since we have so many more fat people when can experiment on ...I mean gather data from.

As painful as it may seem, that is one thing that the Obummers are doing right.  The First Lady's "cause" is childhood obesity and she's pushing eating better and getting off the couch and go outside and PLAY.  I can't find fault in that.

There are a couple neighborhood kids that are NEVER inside.  I highly doubt there's an once of fat on any of them.

I haven't had a potato chip in three months!  I eat breakfast every day of whole grain cereal,  and have apples, bananas, oranges, fresh produce, nothing at all out of a box, period!  I cook fresh food every day now.  I have no more excuses...

Move more, eat less!  It's not rocket science!

As to the liver, kill it with alcohol before the other nasty thing gets it!

 ;D

There are lifestyle factors as well.
My Great Grandfather lived on salt pork, eggs, bacon, and all that stuff, he was skinny as a rail.
But he did physical work and burned it off.
I do the same type of work today, and am fairly careful what I eat and am still getting a gut,
Because nowadays the things he did with lifting and wrenches I do by pushing a button or 2.
Even ditch digging , it used to be done with shovels, now it is done by some guy sitting on a piece of equipment.
Our technology means we can't eat the way people used since we don't need the fuel.

Part of the problem is that Industrial foods have less than half the nutrients that the same item has 50 to 100 years ago.

They haven't lost calories, so to get the nutrients you need, you have to eat more of them.

Heirloom seeds and range fed livestock will go a long way to making changes more effective.

The fact that I've been run over by a mini-van has something to do with it!

 ;D

My body wakes up in stages!  My legs stage a revolt every morning and battle with my ass that's staged a sit-in!  By the time I get to the crapper, I can almost walk...20 or so surgeries takes a toll on a person!

I've got to move every day or I won't move at all!

 ;)

Amen, my brother, AMEN!!!!!

Don't move enough and everything seizes up and nerve bundles forget to fire....move a little too much or too far and then comes the hot ice-picks in the joints and muscles........BUT, it's still better than being on the other side of the grass.  ;D

hmmn...interesting?

I think I had read some where that there might be a connection between HFCS and gout, and yes, I had gout too earlier this year.  It made walking around at work a real pain.
