Title: Do you line a concealed carry?
Post by: daddyeaux on January 14, 2012, 09:39:20 AM
Guys, I am making some concealed carry holsters. I have never seen any of these lined. Does anyone line a concealed carry holster?
Thanks

I use a "Tucker Custom Leather" IWB (just like the super tuck) and it's lined.  It don't mar the finish of my gun the way Kydex does.

Guess I should have clarified this a little more, does anyone line a leather concealed carry holster?

I make some holsters where I bond 3/5 OZ to 5/6OZ which puts a grain side towards the gun effectively acting as a liner. Other than that I would not consider lining a holster.

I dont line any of my holsters. However I do wax and seal the inside of then . I makes them just about as smooth as the outside.

Insta, you say you wax and seal the inside of the holsters. Do you do this before or after you mold the leather? It seems if you did this before you mold, the wax and sealer would prevent the water from penetrating the leather on the inside of the holster.

You are correct . This is one of the last steps of the builds . I wax the inside with Aussie leather conditioner to lay all the fibers down nice and tight . After drying time I then seal the whole holster with a mop n glo mix .
