Bathroom gun mystery solved

Lee County, GA -
When 60-year-old David Hallman of Lee County was listening to WALB's 6:00 news simulcast on B-100FM yesterday, he heard the story of the gun found in the Lee County Publix bathroom.

He then realized that he was missing his own pistol, and remembered where he left it-- in the bathroom at Publix.

The retired FBI agent had placed the gun on the sink, washed his hands, and left... leaving the gun behind.

He called Lee County sheriff Reggie Rachals, and told him that weapon was his.

Hallman, who has a Georgia Firearms License issued in Lee County, met with Rachals this morning, proved the gun was his, and reclaimed it from the sheriff.

Rachals has notified the Lee County Probate Court, which handles firearms licenses applications, of the incident.

Senior moment? Not to sound unsupportive, because lord knows I've done some dumb stuff, but I'd be more likely to forget my pants than my pistol. Yikes. :o
