I just about blew soda out my nose when I read this.
Odd this would surface in an election year.
I bet gun ownership is involved somehow as well.
Low IQ & Conservative Beliefs Linked to Prejudice
There's no gentle way to put it: People who give in to racism and prejudice may simply be dumb, according to a new study that is bound to stir public controversy.
The research finds that children with low intelligence are more likely to hold prejudiced attitudes as adults. These findings point to a vicious cycle, according to lead researcher Gordon Hodson, a psychologist at Brock University in Ontario. Low-intelligence adults tend to gravitate toward socially conservative ideologies, the study found. Those ideologies, in turn, stress hierarchy and resistance to change, attitudes that can contribute to prejudice, Hodson wrote in an email to LiveScience.

I saw this yesterday as well.
I contend that Rev. Jackson is a pretty bright guy yet, he's one of the biggest bigots on the planet!

Really?! The guy has a keen grasp on the obvious and the sense not to tell everybody what he knows, but I don't think ol boy is all that sharp, myself..
Guess that makes me a racist, too..

this study was based out of the UK.
jeesh....
it is great that they took the time to track kids born in 1958 and again in 1970 and gave them IQ tests at age 10 or 11, and then gave them IQ tests again at age 30, but.....
my guess is that their end goal is to get rid of racism or prejudices that make it easier to tax middle class whites and give the money to poor blacks....so their end goal is to make it easier to spread socialism.
back when I was trying to go to grad school for psychology, I was involved with running students through surveys that measured their individualistic vs. collectivism tendencies. the same study was going on in India, and if I recall correctly also in Ireland.
you could see where being a more collectivistic culture would make it easier to become communists/socialists.

The UK and Rev. Jackson? Interesting combo. Sharpton and the reverend Farrakhan are ones to worry about. Stirring race hatred among negro youth disguised as religion. >:(
