Title: So Romney Takes Florida,...But,...
Post by: twyacht on January 31, 2012, 07:06:23 PM
Foxnews calls Romney in Florida....But,....the Gingrich, Santorum cumulative vote smokes Romney in total....

So where does it go from here,....

Romney has bling and the est. on his side,...as the spending was 4 to 1, but the evangelical, social conservatives leave Romney lagging.

It may be fate, and money,....but I still am not a Ken Doll fan,....and am not impressed by the "game" in which this platform is played.

Still, BHO must go, but what a farce this is turning out to be.

It wasn't much different four years ago!  We just got a different RINO to hold our nose for and yank...

Newt has an uphill battle!  I hope he's in enough primaries and caucii (?) to matter in the end.  He's going to have a long February in political terms.

I think it's gonna be harder for Newt to get money to fight Romney.

George Stephanopolous (sp?) on ABC announced (from all appearances, while having a thundering orgasm) that with the Florida victory, Romney had the nomination sewed up.  His obvious delight at the prospect worries me even more about Romney being the candidate.

I think that's "Snuffleupagus"....even so, I don't think he's an Odamna supporter either.  Just a diehard liberal...

So long as the RINO's think they can feed us this ilk (Romney) and we'll still vote for them (put on your chump suit) in November there will be no changes.  It sucks, but I refuse to vote for the RINO's best choice in the general election.  Dem or RINO Repub...two paths leading to the same end...one gets  you there quicker than the other.  The longer this crap drags on the less likely it will be corrected in our lifetimes.

Nice sentiment.
Better if it weren't a guarantee of 4 more years of a proven communist.

What are you doing about it ?

Romney's victory isn't surprising....Florida is the most liberal of the "red States"....Romney winning it was a given.....doesn't mean that he'll win the others.....

Quite likely more than you.  I support these guys  http://libertyforge.us/ (http://libertyforge.us/) and others within my own little part of the world.  I actually supported, helped and know our (unsuccessful) gubernatorial candidate.  You'd be surprised what a handful of people can get a state party to change by simply telling people the truth about what the politicians do.  Same story here as elsewhere, laws and state constitution ignored or "steered around".  The guys are lawyers, peel back their bravado and confront them with the reality of their own lawbreaking while quoting the penalties and their insecurity eventually overrides their arrogance and they get scared.  It only takes a handful of dedicated people who work to properly frame the context of political actions to make a difference.  You have to visit the state capital and meet your politicians, tell them what they are doing wrong and then run some people and debate the RINO's & Dems.

If you aren't doing something like this, you should try it.  Since it appears that you are willing to support a slower road to destruction, what is it you are doing?

Pretty much the same, supporting local candidates, and calling BS when needed.

This isn't the election to do something about it, but I've been voting Libertarian for over a decade.   Had more folks who refused to  hold their nose, maybe something might have changed by now.

But they don't.
Based on past conduct the people deserve what they're getting.

I always called Florida "The southern most State, north of the Mason-Dixon". Northeast (mostly NY) and Michigan dominate much of the political landscape. Not all, but enough to make the difference. For me, if I ever moved back, it would be the mid-panhandle or nothing..
Newt can do well in the southeast, through Texas and Oklahoma. That counts for alot. He just has to survive that long..
Unless somebody new comes in at the Convention, I've got no place to go. It's Newt or nothing.. I get my say on 3/13..

Gingrich actually won the Northern Counties...Closer to the "southern" states that states like Alabama, Georgia, Miss, Louisiana, and others Newt will probably do better in. Like S. Carolina.

Florida's primary is screwy. Think about it.

The candidate that over half the voters DIDN'T want, got all the delegates.

They should have had a runoff.

Last one wasn't the time to go on principle either....unless the principle was to keep BHO from loading the country into a hand cart and releasing the break.

I think the Republican Establishment does the same thing....but they are on a lesser slope downhill.

The ideal plan would be to do runoffs until a candidate have a majority, or even greater, of the votes.

Each run off you eliminate the lowest vote getter and see who those voters supported.

Problem is there is no time to schedule a new ballot, get them printed and anything else that might be required.

Maybe a ballot where you number your choices....if your first choice doesn't make the cut, they know who your second choice is...and your third.  When you run out of candidates you can support, no one gets your vote.

I guess  "None of the Above" would be where to put your vote as your last choice.    If, after all the runoffs, "None of the Above" has the majority, no one gets the nod.
