A 2400gr bullet, this SSK Ind. .950 Caliber rifle,....well,....at $40 per bullet.... :-\ It only takes one to stop a locomotive....
Propelled by 240 grains of powder, the JDJ is comparable to a World War I-era tank round or a 20mm cannon in terms of kinetic energy, one of these rounds would easily pass through several human targets– even if each were equipped with full body armor.
Weight: 50lbs. 25,000lbs energy....
Uber "big" gun porn.... :o

Makes me want to build a 25mm with a BIG muzzle brake on it. If only I knew a machinist that could do it? Oh wait that would be me ;D
Dreams like that are what keep me sane with 3 teenage girls in the house...

Aren't there NFA limits on muzzle diameter for "rifles" ?
Mauler may be the one to answer this.

It would have to be registered as a destructive device.
-
Aren't Destructive Device Licenses very expensive?
-
If you can afford $40 a piece just for the bullets I don't think that would be much of a problem.

I not seeing why they're so expensive? If you had access to a small CNC bench chucker lathe, you could turn them up and part them off out of 1" brass bar stock. You wouldn't even need software, you could finger dink it in manually.

You have to make the cases as well.

I PMed Mauler, since that is what he does. Below is his reply.
"Yes. Anything over .50 Caliber (or specifically .510 which is the .50 BMG) is considered a Destructive Device and therefore subject to the NFA of 1934. Of course, there are exceptions made for "sporting purposes" which is why we have the .577 Tyrannosaur, the .600 Nitro Express, the .700 Nitro Express and so on. If you are going to build your own at home I believe you would need to either apply for a sporting purpose exception or register it as a Destructive Device."
This isn't meant as legal advice "Legal advice".

Checked out this video the other day. Man, that looks like no fun to shoot for me. I think the biggest thumper I ever fired was a XM148, 40mm grenade launcher in the Air Force. After 21 rounds I would never want to fire anything like that again. I can shoot a 12 gauge shotgun all day long.

Try a .375, ;D Make a .458 seem mild ;D
