Wow, as a former archeologist, that is incredible - and a sobering find too.
i had heard there are likely dozens, if not hundreds of such sites potentially. Looks like they actually found one.

Not long ago, I read a story of buried unexploded munitions from WWI in Belgium that had been forgotten! It had been buried over by the local farmers over the decades. It was a sobering reminder of the ugliness of war and the lives and families that are affected for years and years.

My Grandfather served over there in WW1
My Great-Grandpa served over there in WW1, my Grandpa served in WWII as a navigator in a B24 for 32 missions (flew with Jimmy Stewart for a few missions and then something happened, a crash?, and then he flew another 25 with his next crew):
