Good lesson to all those people that forget that posting on Facebook is like standing in the town square and screaming your thoughts.

Way to go dad!

Did you read the comments?  With the exception of a couple of folks who were immediately chastised for trying to make it an issue, they were positive about guns and his form of discipline.  Surprisingly pleasant.

Funny, the comments on the MSM page, call him psycho dad, and other reasons the "parents are at fault"....

Yet on more conservative outlets, Fox News, The Blaze, Sipsey Street, the comments support the dad, and agree that the girl has it way easy.

Fwd. it to my 15 year old son as a "reminder"..... ;)

Good use of a .45 as a disciplinary tool.  We always say that teaching yer kidz how to use firearms is important! ;D

BTW most of the responses on you tube (other vids in response) are supportive of Dad, even ones from other kidz.

You can have another laptop when you buy one,...
and pay me the $130 for the software,
and pay me for the "exploding HP rds."....

and whatever year from now your not grounded anymore....

 ;D

That's classic....

I just had my parental whoopin's,....and I deserved every one of them... (except two),.. ::)

Looks like Daddy's little Princess just burned the draw bridge from the castle.

My niece, the child of a Naval Officer of 23 years, posted on Facebook that though it might seem "old fashioned" to discipline a kid that way, it's exactly what her dad would have done to her back in the day!

Though he'd use a Colt 1851 Navy in lieu of the .45...

 ;D

It seems trips to the "woodshed" like days of old, now gets parents arrested for child abuse.

Back even in my day, the School Admin's had permission to "whoop" us.... ::)

(Personal exp. with that also.).....

I think it is absolutely hilarious. Had to share it with my two sons. They did not find it as humorous as I did.  ;D

The local radio station just announced that the Sheriff's dept and Child Services came by the house to CONGRATULATE him, along with a note that school resource officers are going to show the video to students at their schools.

We watched it here and the oldest said although she's thought it before, she'd never be dumb enough to post something like that anywhere, she likes living ;D

To show the stupidity of some people:

Our local radio station asked for call in comments - especially those that thought he was wrong.  A father called in and said he disagreed.  He said they watched the video as a family, and then sat down with their three boys ages seven to 14 and discussed the situation.  His claim is that the father should of had an adult sit down discussion with the girl.

I agree that family discussions are good and should be done.  I also agree that these discussions are an important part of discipline.  However, what did the father calling in on the radio have stuck in his ears?  This is not the first offense.  In fact, it has been bad enough that the girl just came off being grounded for three months.  I know I am assuming, but listening to this father articulate himself and describe the situations; his apparent fairness in explaining his side of her rant; and his description of their family's way of life; I believe that they have discussed this.  At some point you just need to turn the desert in to glass!

I'm thinking this was Texas.. Had it been most states, the dad would have been haouled off for terrorizing, weapons charge, et al..
God bless Texas!
The girl didn't get her butt tanned "er nuthin". My daddy would've beat me to death for pulling something like that..
The follow up I tead that came a few days later said that she was asking her dad how to profit from the publicity...
