What I don't understand is all the talk about the different options for triggers and sear groups....one or both independent or linked??

I mean if one side fires and the other doesn't, since there is only one slide the unfired round will still be ejected..

Only thing I can think of is it gives you the option of shooting with only a single magazine loaded..

Now, if that isn't a answer looking for a problem, I've never heard one.

From Farmer Frank's blog - It has 2 barrels, 2 slides, 2 triggers, 2 magazines, but only 1 SEAR!  One trigger doesn't work.  You select which side you want the sear on and that's the trigger that operates this thing.  The hammers while looking like 2 hammers are actually a single hammer, that operate off the single sear.

In other words for 16 rounds you get 8 shots. Which means you are doubling weight, width, and ammo costs.

From Arsenal Firearms YouTube page  http://www.youtube.com/arsenalfirearms

The AF2011-A1 ("Twenty Eleven" for aficionados) can be ordered either with 2 independent triggers and one sear group (left or right, with user-interchangeability for right or left operations) or with 2 triggers permanently joined and the choice of 1 or 2 sear groups.

It looks like it doesn't matter whether you get 2 sears or one sear or two triggers or one trigger, it all comes out the same ...  everything does go bang with one pull.  Have no idea  why you would want independent sears that were always both actuated ...unless they are trying to build redundancy...

Honestly, no matter how you try to figure out what the goal is, it is still doesn't wash.

The only ting it does do is deliver an automatic double tap every time you pull the trigger.   Might be effective at stopping a bad guy, but can you imagine the smile the prosecutor will have showing the jury those two great big barrels?

I'll stick with a single barrel double-stack. I can put the same number of rounds on twice as many targets with half the recoil.

I'd buy one, but the grip seems a bit thin.  ;D

I don't know Bill.
Are you sure the trigger guard will be wide enough  ?      ;D

You could always get one of these to go with it.

Regardless of all the impracticalities of this gun, if I had the funds to purchase one, I'd do it in a heartbeat! This gun definitely has some WOW factor!   ;D

If you buy it, it's just a overweight unwieldy chunk of iron.
The real "wow factor" would be if you bought 2 1911's an built it yourself.

I could do that with duct tape and JB weld.

I'd start by either building up the slides with weld and blending it, or machining a new double slide.
Since it only has one seer and the 2 triggers are only about a 1/2 inch apart the idea of 2 triggers is stupid, or lazy design work, I'd reduce it to one trigger centered and a normal size  trigger guard.
But it would still be nothing but a curiosity using 2 single stack mags and a ridiculously wide grip.

You'd most certainly be the only one on your block with one.

I could see if Tommy Theis would make an IWB holster for it. Of course then I'd have to buy my pants two sizes bigger.
